Being an American citizen he is entitled to due process rights, period.

 

Obviously the military is handling these situations as they believe they should so it isn't really a problem.

 

Being an enemy combatant he is entitled to room and board at Gitmo. Period.

 

I liked GWB. I thought he was a good man and a patriot. He seemed sincere and competent despite the abomination known as the Patriot Act.
Trump, on the other hand, is a buffoon. He's completely inept, unqualified, and unfit for office. I didn't like Obama at all, I highly doubt that trump will be a better president though.

 

Probably in most cases. However, I still try to discuss and it does work on occasion.

 

Which brings up an interesting point. Being an enemy combatant is one thing, but treason is a death penalty offense. If he's treated as an enemy combatant, he should be treated per Geneva Convention standards (yes, even though ISIS is not a signatory, we are). OTOH, if he's treated like an American citizen, he should be treated like a treasonous bastard. So, by all means, let's treat this ******* like an American citizen and give him his due.

I think Trump is turning out to be pretty good. His style is chaotic so that nobody gets comfortable and complacent. His blunt statements and responses are off the cuff, unscripted honest.

 

Blunt, off the cuff, and unscripted responses are not good things for an idiot. I'd much prefer him to reflect, analyze, and ponder an issue before he opens his stupid fat yap. What the president of the greatest county in history says matters. At least it used to.

I agree with you that it's bad form for an idiot but by good fortune Trump isn't one of those. What he says still matters.

Maybe it's just that you are so used to politicians talking in PC code that straight up truth drives you nuts trying to figure out the key to the code that isn't there?

 

Look, I'm all for doing away with the PC BS and it's refreshing for a politician to say what he really thinks. Unfortunately in trumps case he's just not very bright. Really, that he's stupid is probably why you usually get a straight answer - he's not sharp enough to lie on the fly.

Suit yourself, those clips don't move me all that much and they are hardly a yardstick to measure his intelligence. I don't like to listen to politicians giving speeches, not even Reagan. I hated Obama speeches and missed most of them, he was always standing at a pulpit preaching to the nation. The stern arbiter of morality as he saw it and we should. Trump is a condescending ass much of the time but he often answers BS with the same humorous sarcasm I might use.

 

ISIS fighters shooting at American soldiers is not as bad as crazed mass shooters in America killing scores of unarmed civilians. The mass shooter is accorded rights.

At least the soldiers are armed and capable of shooting back.

 

I'll take a pass. I don't think those terrorists at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo were all that innocent. And as far as torture, it's nothing compared to what the terrorists do to people. But your hatred of America is acknowledged.

Roy Moore deserves to be treated fairly by the US Government in regard to legal matters. This latest controversy involves whether people should vote for him to serve in the US Senate, undoubtedly the most powerful legislative body that has ever existed. It has nothing at all to do with legal matters as its subject took place longer ago than the Statute of Limitations for that offense, therefore Roy Moore does not deserve fair treatment here. If Roy Moore isn't a Dirty Old Man then the type never existed. If he is elected then the Republican Party has sacrificed any claim they ever had to moral leadership whatsoever (so what else is new?) and they have done it for one more vote in favor of a temporary tax cut for the middle class which will become a permanent tax cut for the wealthy 10 years from now

 

But what if this guy DIDN"T go and join ISIS? What is the evidence against him? Somebody in Iraq needed a fall guy for something and this poor schlep was sleeping off a drunk in the Baghdad Hilton, what?

 

I thought that was the story? That he joined ISIS.

Almost all if not all were tortured, some were renditioned to black sites, all without trial and all without due process. What you "think" about "all that innocence" is irrelevant to those who were tortured, some to death and certainly irrelevant to those who have done the research and published those reports. You weren't involved for sure so you have no clue.

Ah it's matter of degree of torture to you. I hate to clue you but those who commit torture and murder are terrorists. It doesn't matter if they're Muslim, CIA or Ted Bundy.

You can acknowledge anything you like, that's also irrelevant. America isn't committing war crimes, there's nothing to "hate" about America. But the 3 branches in our pretend government along with the CIA, Blackwater, etc. have certainly committed or been complicit in committing war crimes, read the reports. Oh that's right, you don't want to know. Just pretend it's not true.

 

I'm really sad for the stupid Muslim terrorists who got water boarded. Boohoo.
