Ah...back to the attempts at emotional morality shaming, eh? I am asking you; is that a big number? Yes or no?
You may not understand natural rights but the Framers did. Specifically the bill of rights to insure certain natural rights were not to be confused and the ninth amendment, “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to disparage others retained by the people”. Natural rights exist with or without government as they are unalienable. Example: the right to life.
They exist in your belief system. I have NEVER seen a list that everyone can agree on that says what they are. They are unicorns. LOL
Compared to what exactly? What is the unit of measurement that is being utilized to determine such as being the case?
So the problem stems from the Constitution. About time it was ripped up and rewritten to suite a modern civilized country. Get out of 1700's, stop living in the past. That's the problem. You are not 300 hundred years old, you are not your forefathers, you are not of that time. Move on.
The Constitution protects ALL rights (read the Ninth Amendment again). The government was NEVER supposed to have the power to impose restrictions upon ANY right; not without a supermajority agreeing to it and putting it into place through Constitutional Amendments. Yes, I know you're going to say that government has placed restrictions upon rights already that we deal with every day. But the people should NEVER have allowed it to happen. Sooner or later the people need to either stand up and take back their rights, or they need to accept the Great Experiment is over, and it failed because the people refused to take responsibility for protecting their inherent rights and Liberties.
Shove your self-righteous and arrogant blatherings where the sun don't shine, Nonnie. The Constitution remains one of the most sublime protections of personal freedom and liberty ever created by Man. I, for one, remain committed to protecting it unto my last breath.
Well you have a lot of OPINIONS about what the government SHOULD do. But that is all they are....your opinions.
The fundamental principles of the Constitution are as relevant today as 300 years ago. Assuming you are Christian, perhaps a leap... does fundamental Christian doctrine change?
Such does nothing to address the question that was presented to yourself. Exactly what is the unit of measurement that is being utilized and compared to the number of firearm-related deaths in the united states?
