You may not understand natural rights but the Framers did. Specifically the bill of rights to insure certain natural rights were not to be confused and the ninth amendment, “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to disparage others retained by the people”. Natural rights exist with or without government as they are unalienable. Example: the right to life.

The Constitution protects ALL rights (read the Ninth Amendment again). The government was NEVER supposed to have the power to impose restrictions upon ANY right; not without a supermajority agreeing to it and putting it into place through Constitutional Amendments. Yes, I know you're going to say that government has placed restrictions upon rights already that we deal with every day. But the people should NEVER have allowed it to happen. Sooner or later the people need to either stand up and take back their rights, or they need to accept the Great Experiment is over, and it failed because the people refused to take responsibility for protecting their inherent rights and Liberties.

The fundamental principles of the Constitution are as relevant today as 300 years ago. Assuming you are Christian, perhaps a leap... does fundamental Christian doctrine change?
