No they do not exist and really never did. You're talking about the KTW rounds, specifically the pistol bullets. They were never designed to penetrate body armor, but for penetration against hard surfaces at oblique angles. There was incidental finding that they could penetrate early Kevlar vests, called Class 1 that are no longer made. They could give early soft body armor a run for their money, but penetration was erratic and largely against older vests that had degraded substantially. No LEO was ever killed with one and sales were always limited to PD's and military. There were never civilian sales. Banning them was an over reaction to a nonexistent problem. Therefore you might want to learn something before you decide to look not so intelligent. Any center rifle round will penetrate Class 2, 2A and 3A body armor ( you don't know what that is) that is the most common type worn by LEO's.

Then what exactly is the proposal being presented by yourself, for when the hypothetical killer in question enters the classroom? What should be done in such a situation when the killer is literally coming through the door?

What is being presented by yourself is a false narrative. There is no evidence, none whatsoever, that those who possess firearms for their own defense, are more likely to kill themselves or others, than they are to actually defend themselves from harm.

You have created a fantasy situation, most mass shooters kill them selves anyway...after they’ve surprised their victims and killed enough , I taught in the classroom and I cannot imagine walking around with with my gun. It sounds like you imagine teacher standing in front of the desks. When I thought I walked all around the room. You assume that the shooter will give us time to get guns and you assumeWe will know who the shooter is . Sometimes just curling up into a ball and waiting for the police saves a life. That is exactly what happened to my friend!s son in Florida. A killer bent on killing others, will do just that. Perhaps if they didn’t have the guns we wouldn’t be having this discussion

Your sister is very noble that she would die for her students. Perhaps she should direct her energy toward protecting her students from crazy people carrying assault weapons. Then she would have more of a chance. Oh if only people cared about putting the money in education as much as they care about putting the money into guns for teachers.
I hope your sister at the teacher is more rational and realizes that if somebody opens the door and start shooting out of class but there is not a damn thing she can do unless of course they should’ve I’ll wait for her to get her gun

Hint: The shooter is the guy with the gun doing the shooting.

Then what is being proposed by yourself is to do nothing at all, and simply let the killer do as they please? Because no matter what policy is implemented, those who do not have any regard for human life, and who do not wish to abide by the rules of society, will continue to find ways to acquire firearms as they see fit.

Meaning that if law enforcement had done its job, and arrested Nikolas Cruz when he was being reported for domestic violence and animal cruelty, rather than simply standing idly by and doing nothing at all, this discussion would not be had currently, correct?

Tell me how I would secure a handgun when I am walking around a classroom, the door opens and some madman starts blasting us. No ****ing way am I going to walk around with a concealed hand weapon. For Christ sake if only you cared about the shooter and making it more difficult for him to have access. Maybe we should order them all doctors and nurses because there are crazy people who go into hospitals. Maybe we should arm waiters and restaurants because after all there’s some crazy people who might do bad things. Oh if only you cared about people as much as you do about guns

Yeah, right, I’m going to walk around with a holster....it’s hard enough getting good teachers. We cut funding for learning materials but we’ll find money for guns. There is no way on earth I would walk around with a gun

Most people walk around with holsters. It's what they're made for. Trust me on this.

With the proper type of holster and appropriate dress.

Pray tell why not? Do not present the false notion of some student taking it away from yourself, as there are no incidents that prove such has ever actually happened, in all of the decades concealed carry has been legal.

Such as locking all entrances and exits to the building to prevent unauthorized access?

    Meaningless hyperbole and emotional rhetoric.

And pray tell, why is it believed that such is so difficult?

Because it is believed that no educator currently possesses a concealed carry permit on their own, correct? It is simply not a conceivable possibility?

Then do not do such. There is no obligation for yourself to engage in any particular course of action. But do not pretend to be taking some morally superior high ground. Simply admit to being afraid of responsibility, and not trusting yourself.

Please tell me what exactly is “my wingnut media.” And how do you know I didn’t make my own conclusions in this case? What unsubstantiated assumptions are you working under?

Now I know you put the life of a vile street thug far above that of a police officer, but try to see things from the cop’s perspective amd maybe you’ll begin to realize why complying with their orders is so important. This worthless scumbag would be likely taking it up the ass from his cellie as we speak had he stopped and shown his hands as he was commanded. But he decided to commit suicide by cop instead... which is just as well because my idiot governor is putting thugs back on the street by the hundreds because our prisons are overcrowded and since he blew our surplus on illegal alien healthcare and a train to nowhere, we don’t have any money left to build any more thug warehouses.

Stay calm. You're talking to a liberal. Logic and common sense is very slow on the uptake if at all.

A proper concealment holster is all you need.

That is your choice. And if you are not comfortable with firearms, you definitely have no business carrying. But please don’t take that choice away from responsibile adults who have taken it upon themselves to acquire the skills and training to defend themselves and others should the worst happen.

There are 14 disqualifications to legally purchasing a firearm. Unfortunately - and as FL illustrated all too well - it is impossible to predict how certain people will act. Best thing we can do is prepare. And a box of rocks and mini baseball bats does not constitute preparing.

I should remind you that I am not the topic of this thread. That said, I believe my pragmatism is superior to your idealism when it comes to confronting the inevitable deadly force that will be unleashed on innocents from time-to-time in a free society.

It may come as a surprise to you but some of your colleagues already havr their own. If they have the proper credentials there is no reason they shouldn’t be able to bring them to work - concealed on their person. You’d never even know. Unless the unthinkable happens. And then you may even be grateful that someone came prepared to defend the kids and you. My sister would be one such person.

I know quite a few ladies that walk around with pistols in holsters. Its hardly noticeable. Not sure what getting good teachers has to do with anything.

No. A teacher could bring their gun if they wished

    You wouldn't have to.

You could get to all of these within a couple of seconds. Even if you have to dive behind a desk to give yourself time, it's doable. After a couple of weeks carrying, they don't even think about it, until they need it.
