I don't think I've ever seen a thread go off the rails so quickly. 1st race pride is arguably one of the stupidest ideas humanity ever dreamed up. If the only thing you have to proud is the color of your skin or the accomplishments of others who look sort of vaguely like you, you really desperate need to quit the vicarious horse crap, quit wasting oxygen and do something with your life. Dividing up in to tribes based roughly on appearance is idiotic. It is ideas mot skin color that matter, I will cheerfully stand shoulder to shoulder with such men as Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, and Clarence Thomas. Not because of the color of their skin but because of the shape of their ideas. Every race harbors it's fair share of horse's rear ends. And every race contains it's fair share of decent and honorable men. To judge people based on their appearance is the shallowest of thinking.
You’re the first generation to ever believe this. Your father’s generation, and his fathers’, going all the way back understood that societies simply work better the more homogenous they are. There has never been a thriving, prosperous nation with the kind of rainbow coalition population that the left is trying to build, and permissive boomer type conservatives like you go along with. And the data backs me up. Diversity destroys social cohesion and trust. Destroys the sense of community. That’s great that you’re an old rich boomer now and you don’t have to suffer the consequences of the policies you enacted, or allowed to happen. Your generation didn’t conserve anything, except maybe a fat retirement account to live out the rest of your days with. The future of the West will need to be saved by the youth. Let’s pray you didn’t do too much damage.
But there’s not a lot of evidence that they can be effectively put to rest, judging by the complete lack of “multicultural states”.
I've got to say I'm ambivalent about this sentiment. I want people to get along and discuss things based on common goals and value things based on a common striving for virtue. I don't think that goals or virtue (on a linguistic and intentional level of analysis) are encoded in our DNA. Still, white people speaking up about how great their people are is not something that is happening in a vacuum and it is difficult to take denigration of this stance seriously without looking at five decades plus of the left championing causes based on racial grievances with the underlying assumption that it was not the west that created the modern world, it was the west that destroyed it and that white men are sub human scum who need to be taught how to behave. When academia and the media are fully saturated with these ideas and policy is demonstrably targeting whites to their disadvantage, I don't expect people to be completely calm, detached and non confrontational about this. I'm reading "war is stupid" which sounds good but leaves out most of the details about why it would be rational to do such a thing. PS: I love Thomas Sowell too.
Well you got the old right. But rich not hardly. And as far as not having neighbors who don't look like me, sorry but most them are yuppie Latinos. They are living the American dream. They mostly small business people, carpentry subcontractors, and other construction subcontractors they are in this trailer park until they make enough money to get something nicer. Again it is commonality of ideas that matter. I suspect among my neighbors you will find some of that thirty percent of Latinos who voted for trump.
If that were the case there would have been no Black freedmen before the civil war and freed slaves would have forcibly been shipped out of the country.
Native Americans weren't citizens and too busy not being forcibly removed to do much else. It also took some 3 centuries to finally say no to the slave trade despite indulging in it, so there's no reason to pat oneself on the back there.
I think you mean supplying them but I don't recall too many Africans being the ones who settled onto the West. At least not by choice.
Slaves had what I had in the US Army. A job with low benefits, food and shelter. Post slavery what did they have then? Who handed them jobs, shelter and food like the plantations had? I hope today's Army is treated far better by this government than we draftees were treated.
I was just offering Brewskier a suggestion. He wanted an all-white haven and I pointed one out for him.
So, with no further ado, to you color is everything. I had not mentioned blacks in the Army but yes, their draftees were also treated like slaves. As to your taunts and insults, store them on paper and insert same into a thimble. I actually had this very discussion with Sgt. E-8 Alonzo B. Dodd, the sitting first Sgt. He accused me of talking like a communist.
Slavery is never about all good nor all bad. Freedom of all is my most vital topic. I started this thread to find out about extreme views. And you fit that mold. I am not going to give you hell for being extreme but watch to see if you give me hell. And you have. My slavery to the Army started with forced induction. Then forced living quarters. Forced clothing. Tiny pay. Forced food. Forced time to arise and sleep. Forced to learn orders. However the commander appointed me to be a leader over a platoon of 60 men. I had my own personal room as a result. I was given an assistant. This was not the fate of the men in training below me. I must have been a good leader since the men in the unit voted for me to attend the leadership academy. I want to be a good leader here as well though I am not in charge of posters. To lead can mean to help a group proceed at a more vital pace with far less all out fighting. If I can manage more Democrats, I may whip them into a decent forum.
I and a black client once had an interesting dialogue where I argued that very thing. And at first he was not happy and resisted my points. But I can't be certain I persuaded him, I did make the argument. I pointed out to him it exists in Africa among tribes. It exists all over the world when you get away from family. Inside the family I seldom find it exists. And when it does exist, the family has serious trouble. The argument is that first you have family. Outside of family, why bond with others? For a common cause? African tribes may have a small amount of politics. Seems if one was the leader, the route was via either inheritance of leadership or some kind of ritual. Perhaps the tallest was the leader. Perhaps it was by intellect. I bond with republicans due to the love of freedom held by them and me.
