UK isn't liberal democratic. Its an Anglo Saxon economy akin to the US, with (conservative) libertarianism used to enforce deeply damaging income and wealth inequalities.
You are actually saying the UK is "conservative"?? Wow. What qualifies as a "liberal democracy" to you?
Reduce population density and unemployment. Both in conjunction correlate to higher gun crime. Canada has similar gun laws as the US (they restrict handguns to 'may issue' permission and restrict magazine size, but long guns [even most mag-fed semi-auto] are just as easy to get in CA as in US) yet they have 1/10 of our gun crime. They also have 1/10 of our population density and lower unemployment.
I'm worldly enough to know the answer to the above is "bollocks." I also note you didn't answer the question. What qualifies as a "liberal democracy" to you?
Based on what? Did the NRA suggest the UK was socialist? A liberal democracy has institutions in place which restrict poverty (making them distinct from social democracies which are associated with lower poverty rates for stability). Britain has adopted right wing policies since 1979. At no stage did it move from that. Not surprisingly it has higher poverty rates than most developed countries (Blair did reduce child poverty rates, but only from spectacularly high rates and he failed to meet his targets)
According to 10 USC 311, those who must belong to the militia are men aged 17-45. In the event of an actual muster to defend the US, volunteers outside those parameters may be accepted.
We had a national speed limit of 55 mph in the 1970's. That's long gone with 85 mph being the highest speed limit in the USA. Everybody's in a hurry dancing to the strings of Wall Street puppeteers, and nobody gives a shat how many people a killed.
Based on fact, which I recognize you don't recognize. Yep. Nothing you just wrote reflects reality. This explains a lot.
What fact is that then? Was it Thatcher calling Blair and New Labour her greatest triumph? No problem that you're clueless over the UK. Shame you don't recognise it mind you...
I gave you a fact: right wing regimes since 1979 (even referred to Maggie Thatcher's quote over Blair). You have given none.
Just not interested in wasting my time in an exchange with someone more interested in their political ideology than reality.
No problem. Clearly you don't know what you're talking about, but want to play pretend. Fair enough. If its important to you to play schoolground tactic then go ahead.
No, I know more about what I'm talking about than you do. Your statements are about embracing politically motivated junk "science" to support an authoritarian worldview, facts be damned, and you can badmouth my efforts to stop your agenda from being enacted here all you want; the more upset and frustrated you are, the happier I am.
I love when you folk type this sort of anti-intellectual stuff. Advertises your position neatly. Thanks!
I love when you folk type your usual antifreedom, authoritarian screeds full of misinformation, half- or even nontruths, and then you haughtily proclaim your nonsense to be "peer reviewed" and any opposition is "anti-intellectual". Your attempts to paint anyone who disagrees with you as "anti-intellectual" smacks of desperation... and dishonesty.
You're not making sense, but I appreciate your effort. Those dastard intellectuals also show that right wing conservatism is authoritarian.
