I think that during WW2 my grand parents were typical Democrats. I should not be accused by you of saying all women or all poor or all anything. I never made the case all men wanted to go to college. I did but never graduated. Where I was able to influence my daughters, they have attended college. My oldest has a degree but her children are well into school. Her oldest son is working for Facebook making a pile of money. Her youngest son seems more interested in a military career. Talk about a surprise to me.

I read this statement by you to a woman here with two masters degrees. She taught school for years. She told me what you said is not her experience. She grew up in MA. She is just past 70 so no spring chicken.

The cloth is not mere cloth. My "cloth" is certified to have flown on the mast of the sunken USS AZ at Pearl Harbor. I hope my kids have it as a memento/keepsake for generations to come. More than anything it stands for a nation set up to be free. But due to Democrats, the freedom has vastly waned.

They deny it but they deny oh so much that is true.

So what is the basis of the claim that Democrats fight freedom.

For one thing, I will show a video starting in 1950 but they had been making laws since 1933. FDR bragged he made a lot of laws in his first 100 days. Ask Democrats who created Dodd Frank. That law is draconian. If focuses on a rather small group who had not committed crimes so the Democrats made up a law to make people like me into criminals. And it forced us into more school. And more licenses. And expensive licenses.

When a law does not directly impact on you, you shrug and say out loud, hell, they deserved that law. But our states had already heavily regulated us. Had charged us for licenses. Had forced us to attend courses and pay fees. Dodd Frank was a huge blow to all of us. While not all are in the business, sooner or later you will need one of us. And please do not whine over your costs. We had to first pay them and depend on you to later pay us back.

My husband was in the navy and had a flag on his ship too, but he doesn’t see the flag as anything about more than a symbol. It is supposed to be a symbol for all people but to some it represents something else. When blacks and women couldn’t vote, was the flag the same for them? What percentage of the white population vs the percentage of the black population. The percentage of asians is probably the lowest. Saying 50+ percentage of those on welfare are white doesn't mean that that 50+% of whites are on welfare.

 

White people supported welfare programs in the beginning, up until fairly recently, because they knew the money was mostly going to their own people. Now it’s increasingly going to black and Hispanic minorities who hate them, and whites pay for the overwhelming majority of the bill. Of course they are increasingly less supportive of it.
