Good point or better yet pull out your gun and if Mcglockton does not backoff then shot his ass.

easy to say when you're not involved watching a youtube video but it's another matter when you are there...there's a reason domestic dispute calls frighten cops, emotions are high and volatile events escalate out of control very quickly, people die in those situations as rational common sense disappears...if I came across a random bully frightening/intimidating my mother, wife or child I'd step in not knowing where it would end...

Yes, if he pulled the gun and Mcglockton still came after him, THEN it was justified. But he immediately stepped back.

fighting is illegal here as well but it still allows provocation as a defense to excessive verbal harassment and preemptive physical action to imminent danger...our law works quite well...

both the boyfriend and the shooters life were altered by this event

the boyfriend actions lead to his death

she shooters actions lead to him killing a man over a situation he did not need to interject himself into

    bad choices by all involved

Nope. But it didn’t justify being shot either.

Is that illegal and worthy of being violently assaulted?

    of course you are.

    its criminal assault.

why are you defending these thuggish actions?

do you make it a habit of shoving random people because they use mean words?

I'm not convinced that Drejka could be assured that he was no longer in danger. McGlockton never really retreats, he takes a step or two back, turns to his side, and lingers. There's a guy a in the video who's not part of the altercation who gets outa dodge as soon as Drejka starts reaching. If McGlockton had retreated the way the other guy did, I could agree. If Drejdka fired multiple times, or once McGlocktons back was turned, that would change my mind.

He shot him in race to become an even bigger punk than the guy who pushed him. And he succeeded.

didn’t look like his girlfriend was in any danger. the violent shove to the ground to a man twice his age makes him a thug. shooting justified? i guess the jury will decide.

calling out rude *******s for parking in a handicap zone shouldn’t lead to a violent shove to the ground. all the thug had to do was get in his car and drive away. but he had to show everyone what a tough guy he was. well, one less tough guy to assault more citizens nearly eligible for AARP.

ok, so the victim was actually not just attacking to be attacking, it appears a bystander saw the two arguing and went in and told the boyfriend he might was to go out there

so this would of made the boyfriend think something was wrong (I had thought he just walked our and attacked the man)

makes me feel more sympathy for the boyfriend then had he just attacked the man for no real reason, though I still think he should of tried talking first

had either party handled this differently, things would of turned out so much better

    https://www.tampabay.com/news/publi...ontroversial-stand-your-ground-case_170858731

"The man, 36, walked in the store and told McGlockton he might want to go outside.

    THE SHOOTING

McGlockton did not finish checking out, the detective wrote. He walked to the car and shoved Drejka to the ground."

was only a matter of time before this man killed someone, when you inject yourself into high risk situations enough times, one of them is going to end badly

"As investigators continued looking into the case, they heard from another man, Richard Kelly, who said Drejka had threatened to shoot him in the same parking lot over the same handicap-reserved spot months before. They also learned of two police reports, which did not lead to any arrests but involved people accusing Drejka of showing a gun in road rage incidents."

sounds like the shooter was a dick, that thought he was in the right and when people got upset at him, he pulled a gun, from that article

this would be a tough one in court, had the guy not assaulted him, it would be easy, but the shooter was definitly partly to blame for creating this situation

    https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/nation-world/national/article216594460.html

In court documents, McCabe and Pinellas sheriff's Detective George Moffett cited three other drivers who said Drejka threatened them during confrontations that preceded his run-in with McGlockton. Two of them said he displayed a gun.

A black man who drives a septic truck told Moffett he parked in the same handicapped-accessible spot three months before McGlockton's shooting, the documents show. The man said Drejka began yelling at him and said he would shoot him. The driver said he left, but as he pulled away Drejka shouted racial slurs. The man's boss told Moffett that Drejka later called, telling him "that he was lucky he didn't blow his employee's head off."

In separate 2012 cases, drivers reported that Drejka waved a gun at them during road rage confrontations. In both cases, officers stopped Drejka and found a gun in his car, but he denied showing it to the other drivers.

that was one hell of a violent shove... and for what? yelling at the man’s girl who deserved to be confronted...

we all know what comes next in these ghetto hoodlum attacks. this armed citizen didn’t want to be kicked in the face it would seem.
