It’s really amazing how trumpists go so far to miss the point entirely.

Brennan almost lost his clearance during the Obama years...

No big deal then, but now it is a national crisis.

Brennan is being slapped by Clapper because he knows that any, "discovery," would open up all kinds of exposure of rampant misconduct..

It's stunning really... All Trump would have to do would be to include a few R's (like the disgraced Mike Flynn) in his clearance list and he would avoid most of the avalanche of crap coming his way (on this issue anyway).... but he cannot do that, being a single-track "thinker", so now he just creates more problems for himself.... This is no way to run a business, much less a country.

I haven't seen this in a thread yet, but have you seen the reports that Trumpy's Team is "saving" more clearance modifications for "unfavorable news cycles".... In that case, we should expect them all any day now (and expect them to revoke clearances for ALL government employees)...

    SNIP
Trump wants to sign “most if not all” of them, said one senior White House official, who indicated that communications aides, including press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Bill Shine, the newly named deputy chief of staff, have discussed the optimum times to release them as a distraction during unfavorable news cycles.

I hope the fat Commie does take this to court. As Esperance just stated, discovery would be awesome. Trump could declassify anything he wants regarding Comrade Brennan's shenanigans, corruption, and incompetence.

    He did.

Michael Hayden is a George W Bush appointee. I guess that Maddow guy didn't tell you about that. You should expand your sources for you talking points.

I'm impressed we have a president who isn't afraid to call a vile scumbag a scumbag.

I'm impressed that Trump has single-handedly made it where the elitist, feckless, secretive, corrupt, good-old-boy scumbag politics you like is never coming back.

I don't give 2 craps who appointed who.... Hayden has clearly come out on the Brennan side so is clearly a threat to Trump, and thus is on the list..

    https://www.nationalreview.com/news...d-if-donald-trump-revoked-security-clearance/

That was my bad by using R (for Republican) instead of TAL (for Trump *ss lickers).... confused some on here... I need to remember there are no R's anymore... that's hard, because they've been around my entire life...

That he isn't entitled to a security clearance regardless of what the left has to say. No, people understand that

    I’m 61, and current holder of a Q.
If I leave my current employer and go to another that requires a clearance they could request my clearance be extended, and I would get to keep it, barring any problems. But if I leave my job for the private sector, my clearance ends the day I drop my badge. Could any later investigation be expedited? Sure. Since I’ve been cleared for 10 yrs at a nuclear facility, it probably could. But it doesn’t stay in effect, I don’t get to come on site and chum around with my old buds.
I don’t need it to work somewhere else.....even CNN.
It’s just like a retired politician going into lobbying...they are paying for who you know, and access. And it should all be stopped.

By all means he should do it. We will all enjoy the judge explaining to Brennan that he is a deranged unhinged a-jole with no inherent right to security clearance. Why are all these Establishment Swamp guys such self-entitled idiots?

I've spent all my time in the DoD but I can't imagine the DOE is too different. Look, people with clearances change jobs all the time. It would be asinine to require their investigation be reworked every time.
If you've been a contractor for as long as you indicate then you know this.

A top secret clearance with an sbi(special background investigation)is good for 5 years. I have no problem with them having them until they expire but then if they want one find a job where the employer is will to do the upkeep. Even if you have a clearance you still have to have the need to know.

You are correct in that it’s good for 5 yrs. And, if another contractor wants to hire you and keep it up, they certainly can. BUT, if YOU LEAVE THE EMPLOYMENT of government, or a contractor, the clearance is no longer valid. You cannot access government email accounts, enter restricted property, or be privy to confidential communications. Period.
This is the case for Brennan and others, there is no employment, or need to know. I don’t care what the above poster thinks, yes, the investigation is good for 5 yrs, but the clearance, and access ends with termination of employment.
