Your window is as long as it is reasonable to believe them an imminent threat to life or limb. That depends on the circumstances.
In this case, if a reasonable person would've realized an unarmed assailant backing up and turning to flee was no longer an imminent threat, the shoot is not justified. If not, then its justified.

The two cases illustrate that if you get into an argument over a parking space chances are excellent that someone will get killed.
