You're right about that, and I have no objection to pageantry at the Super Bowl. And I have no objection to military recruitment. Nor do I have any objection to the traditional military color guard.

What I object to is the many games (they do seem to be getting away from it, as you mention) in the last few seasons in which flags covering the entire field are displayed. Considering the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the war on terror, I find it disgusting and rude.

I'm glad for your son. I hope that problematic F35 treats him right.

 

Then you never watched day games. My brother only watched the day games because the night games were when the older ones would crack open beer and he'd go to bed (or get ready for bed).

We watched the day games at a local restaurant and that's where he'd salute during the anthem.

I'm sure you'll deny this and believe it's some wild conspiracy.

 

I've been watching football for years and can count on my hands the number of times the anthem was played on normal day games, otherwise it was almost never broadcast.

Here's a couple of examples:

1. Your first video of Cleveland vs. Baltimore begins much after the Anthem was even played. It in no way proves your point... This recording is after the anthem was displayed.

2. Your second video is blocked from viewing by the NFL (Video unavailable- this video contains content from the NFL who has blocked it from display on this website or application).

 

It wasn't shown on TV, period, not during the pre-game show or the actual game.

 

How are you proving this? Your video BEGINS after the anthem was played. Live TV shows it... lol. Show me that game's recording 15 minutes before it started.

If you're going to cite something, cite something that proves the point.

 

Would you rather the protesting players stood for the anthem and raised a fist up and gave the finger towards the flag as the anthem played?? I think what they are doing is harmless; the only reason they do it is to attract attention and as long as people like you object to it, its going to continue to happen. If you ignore them, eventually they'll go away.

 

Because I remember this game. The anthem was not aired before the game.

Then cite it. You cited a video that BEGAN after the Anthem played. If you're going to try and prove a point, use a source that helps you. Your video does not, as it literally begins after the anthem. Also, there are commercial breaks before the initial intro's too so your video is at least 5 minutes after the anthem.

 

That's like the only full version of that game I could find, and I'll be lucky if that one isn't taken down either. If you know anywhere online that shows full recordings of the day games, from the pre-game up until the final score please fill me in.

Dude, I was lucky to actually find a broadcasted game on Youtube given how NFL likes to strike copyright remarks on those videos, so finding a full game with pre-game commentary is next to impossible on the internet, unless you happen to work for NFL or CBS or something. As it stands there was no anthem shown on television and they rarely are for day games
