As they are expressing their opinion and/or belief through their freedom of speech.

it is not possible to uphold someone’s rights while simultaneously disagreeing with them?

Well anyone who knows what an ad hom is cannot be all bad.

I noticed long ago that the networks usually cut out the anthem unless it is a Superbowl.

    You never noticed that ?!

Well at least he gave you an example.

That's more than most morons here would do for you @ArmySoldier .

Now your new word for the day today is a-n-e-c-d-o-t-a-l.

However without you shifting the goalposts I think he has got you.

It is self evident to almost everyone else that there are more NFL games broadcast WITHOUT the anthem -- and always have been -- than with.

Dammit @APACHERAT you are NEVER NEVER supposed to mention the USAF before the Army, the Navy, or the USMC !!!

The USAF should not even be mentioned before the USCG.

That's because the USAF is the newest of them all. The aeroplane was not even invented when the Army, Navy, USMC, and USCG were created.

And while the Army, Navy, and USMC are older, the USCG is the "oldest continuous" commissioned branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.

    Push-up's -- give me 20 !!

They never showed the NA, cept in playoffs, maybe and the SB.
During the NA, they go to commercial to make money from the commercials.

2 yrs ago, you never cared about the NA before an NFL game. Now every racist wants to see it and then turn the tv off.

Wrong. He failed to give me an example. He cited something that did not in any way prove his point.

    That's called a failure.

    Half-right, FACE!

    First, I don't watch football so I don't care.

BUT, if you think the NFL is toast, then try to imagine life without the NFL? Let's see...we can start with terminating football sports in K-12 schools, then eliminate football from college sports, and eliminate about $14 billion per year in football revenues...without the NFL most all of this will go away. The NFL is not too big to fail, and it can have hiccups, but do you seriously believe Americans and businesses are going to give up football simply because a few guys kneel for the anthem?

The entire conversation about the NFL is not about kneeling but about righteousness...

But they did not ruin it or disrupt the performance at all. It was the most passive respectful form of 'protest' I have ever heard of. . Everyone could still see the flag, and still hear every note of that anthem. These men bent down to one knee. That is traditionally seen as a position of respect and subservience. That is why men bend down to one knee to ASK a woman to marry them. That is why so many cultures have men being knighted, bend to one knee in front of the King.

the people who ruined this tradition, were the ones who made such a huge stink about it. If it had been ignored, you would still be able to enjoy that tradition.

The conversation is about not doing business with militant political enemies. The NFL should expect a lot more of that.
