fox also not broadcasting national anthem? wtf!!

here is what happened just a minute ago. this was the kickoff return. watching my vikings play in green bay. what didn’t happen? no national anthem broadcast. i almost went to this game. glad i didn’t because i’m sure a few overpaid *******s disrepected the country that allows them to earn millions for playing a game.

 

Well, guess no reason to watch any more of the game then?....You people are something special all right!

Can you answer why we need to have the National Anthem for silly sports competition?

Do they play the National Anthem before each Little League game?

Do they play the National Anthem at the beginning of Jeopardy?

All my life I have been being repeatedly amazed at the things people get upset over.

Someone quietly protests police brutality and suddenly it is a national crisis. Almost as if, if the police were not allowed to unfairly target and brutalize a certain segment of our society, that all our country would fall apart.

 

i happen to enjoy the tradition. and i think it's sad that these overpaid babies have to ruin it. they have every right to protest, but what they are protesting is the problem i have with it. they are protesting a country that allows them to earn millions of dollars for playing a game! and now this benchwarming clown kaepernick is some kind of hero? these guys are squandering an opportunity to tell young black men to stop killing each other, but they don't. and that's the real tragedy. instead they perpetuate the victim mentality that keeps most blacks in poverty and killing each other. it's actually very very sad.

 

yeah except that's total bs once you consider the leading killer of young black men is, wait for it... young black men. when the look at the behavior of african americans who are subject to physical force by the police and compare it to whites and even other minorities, you discover there is a common denominator. if it racism that is motivating the cops, why don't we see these issues in hispanic, asian, and east indian communities. some indians are as a dark as africans... yet as a whole, they are among the least likely to be involved with physical force from the police.

i don't care if these idiots don't want to stand for the anthem. but it is disingenuous at the least for the networks to cease broadcasting it. they are witholding facts from the viewing public.

at the end of the day, it is just sports. but like i said, i enjoy the tradition.

 

ESPN is not the only major network planning to go that route.

A CBS Sports spokesperson told USA TODAY Sports this week that it also does not plan to televise the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner as part of its weekly NFL broadcasts, which is the same approach it has taken in recent years.

A person familiar with Fox Sports' approach said the network plans to show the anthem only during what it considers to be special broadcasts — including on Veterans Day and Thanksgiving and during the playoffs. The person requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue.

An NBC Sports spokesperson told USA TODAY Sports that the plans for its 19 NFL broadcasts are still undetermined waiting for orders from the DNC and the "resistance" to take down President Trump.

NFL players didn't stand for the anthem until 2009. Before that, football fans were all anti-American, apparently.

Rather than couch potatoes becoming aroused by watching sweaty young men in physical disport, they'd be far better off lacing up their Nikes, getting out there, and just doing it!

The national anthem has generally not been shown live during NFL broadcasts on a weekly basis in recent years, even as some players have kneeled, raised their fists or otherwise protested while it is being played.
