I watched, I believe Kavanaugh and not Ford, the whys behind.

What are they going to press for? To repeat the questions the GOP questioner asked of Kavanaugh? In the first place, since they were supposedly not there(and we don't know where 'there' is exactly), any response will by default be oppositional to Christine Ford.

She can't even give us a date/time, so that we can ask Mark Judge "Where were you on say, February 15th, 1982." Or something like that.

No. There are a LOT of reasons to put testimony in question besides convictions or prison time. Use your imagination on all the possible reasons a witness who is not an ex-con might lie or minimize or exaggerate. Those are all motives that put the veracity of testimony in question. That is why cops press in their interviews. they don't just press axe murderers and thieves.

The senate is supposed to want the truth, whether Ford has her own bag of evidence or not. The senate wants it so that they do not put someone of poor character on the court and they are supposed to want it bad enough to get out there and look.

"I'm a conservative and I want a conservative appointed to SCOTUS so I will believe anything that a conservative nominee says, no matter what."

She was NOT proven a liar. All we did after 9 hours is return to the spot we were at the beginning. A hyper partisan stalemate.

Do I know after today? No


Do I believe Brett is capable? Yes
Do I believe he was a heavy drinker in youth? Yes
Did he lie about being a heavy drinker? Yes
Did he lie about assaulting Dr. Ford? Idk
Is he hiding something? Sure feels like iT
Should he be confirmed? No
Will he be confirmed? Unequivocally yes
Is that good for the courts in the long run? Yes and No!

 

He WILL be confirmed. There’s no reason not too. Allegations are just that.

do you know how often law enforcement investigates vague tips? Can you not imagine that half the information that they get is equally vague? Do you think cops stop the interviews the moment someone says. ' sorry I wasn't there, or I did not see anything?'

They don't accept the first denials, or even the second. They get lied to a lot.

And Ford lied about flying, but I highly doubt that matters to the Ford supporters. Also Brett didn't lie about being a heavy drinker, it was about 'being to the point where he'd black out' and he stated again for the record that never happened.

 

It's one night, one party in question anyway, not what his habits were.

Democrats completely exploited her. Did you notice that she would have much preferred to be heard in her own home and that her Counsel hid from her that Grassley had offered that? Evil Democrats wanted this vile circus. They didn't hesitate to exploit her.

Did you see her reaction when Katz hugged her at the end? By that time, she knew she had been had by "her" team.

 

Ford's lack of truthfulness probably has a good deal to do with it lol. I'll play along with being sympathetic to her deer in headlights, but she's no more of a credible witness to her supposed assault than she was 24 hours ago.

 

I guess they could gather evidence. Talk to people. Evaluate testimony, rate credibility

Was their a drinking culture at that highschool. Do people remember k as a heavy drinker. Do people remember k as a mean drunk.

Maybe the fbi would not find much. But you never know without asking

 

The word 'patsy' definitely comes to mind. I'm not sure if it was investigated yet(we do know the letter went to a Dem rep) but did the rep go to her, or did she go to him? It's stunning that someone who'd want to report a sexual assault would go to congress, not the police.

 

But he already admitted to drinking(which isn't even the point. The whole reason that's a factor is it's the one slim thing you can possibly(and not even enough to convict or prove, but hey it's what little Ford has given us) try to connect with her story.

In legal circles, they'd look at Ford as an uncooperative witness. This case, in legal circles would've been dismissed a long time ago.

 

Is Mitch going to break up this damned, disreputable Democrat log-jam and let a vote go forward tomorrow, or are we going to have to let the Democrats stage yet ANOTHER whiney-ass, unsubstantiated, unproven "pity-party"...? Delay, delay -- it's all nothing but desperate delay... and, the worst kind of condemnable character-assassination!

 

She seemed to remember everything, barring any other detail of the day, location, what she was doing before and after, whether she took a lie detector after her grandmothers funeral, if she paid for it, etc.

 

She needs help, but I see no evidence that it's due to anything Kav did.

Did you see her response to being questioned on the California thing? Her eyes widened and she moved her head back and forth like 'WHAT'? And when a Democrat would intercede, she was bobbing her head up and down furiously like 'yes please'.

I couldn't imagine a more lack of credibility, contrary to what some want to paint it as.

She can't remember how she got to the party or how she got home ?

 

Ironically, it would have actually served her well if this followed normal proceedings and they had sat adjunct to each other. A visible recoil and I would've thought "She really does believe it's him", but I wasn't given that chance by Ford's own lawyers lol.

 

As has been mentioned, we are back where we started in terms of partisanship. The faithful believe but the undecided now have some food for thought. The spin doctors on both sides have a lot to works with, but I think most women have now been given a powerful motive to vote against the administration and Republicans in general.
