Kavanaugh has already had 6 FBI background checks. The only people who have not had FBI background checks are the accusers.

Vote to confirm Kavanaugh immediately and then start FBI background checks on ALL accusers and if they are found to have made false statements, then file charges against the accusers.

 

Here's the BIGGY that shows Ford was telling the truth. If you check, Ford wrote her letter about Kavanaugh when he was still one of several men on what is called the 'short list'. When that letter was written she did not know Kavanaugh would be selected from that short list. If she was a 'plant' to undermine the Republican appointment wouldn't she have waited till after Kavanaugh had been announded as the candidate? What if trump selected the name before or after Kavanaugh? Her letter about Kavanaugh would have had no impact at all. Let's hear the yeah buts you guys can come up with.

As things stood a few days ago, Murkowski said she would not vote for Kavanaugh. Collins indicated that she was markedly unhappy with fairly overt threats made to her in the next election by Democrats if she voted for Kavanaugh. Maybe she's starting to see that a past generation of Democrats who actually were decent, reasonable, fair-minded people are all GONE.

Jeff Flake? His big beef seems to be with Trump -- not Kavanaugh. So, how will this RINO vote? Good question... Flake can't be threatened by Democrats or anyone else because he is not running for re-election. Flake makes no secret of the fact that he hates Trump, but will he let this influence his vote concerning Kavanaugh?

 

No, but seeing Democrats circling wagons, we have a pretty good idea.

 

Congress should preform its constitutional mandate and do its own investigations. Of course it does but it needs to expand this role.

Relying on the Executive to vet Executive appointments and nominees to Executive offices; or preform investigational functions for Congresses oversight role; or the use of Executive branch investigators to investigate the Chief Executive; etc. seems frought with constitutional and structural problems.

Congress has abdicated for too long.

The red flag is the fact that Kavanaugh flatly refuses to do the only thing that can clear his name for once and for all. He's as guilty as sin.

I know, what you wanted to hear him say is "Trump should ask the FBI to probe it" but even if Trump did, there's nothing to probe.
