It is throughout our society including civil courts. I recently sued someone for a civil tresspass and property damage. I had to prove they did it the judge assumed their innocence until I proved their guilt with evidence.

The fact is Kavanaugh was being accused with a criminal act and he like any other person deserves the assumption of innocence. The fact is not a scintilla of evidence to show any guilt was produced. Accusations of guilt are entirely baseless and in fact refutes by evidence. They are nothing but desperate partisan smears of an honorable man.

Ahhhh, again context is key....he was accused in the court of public opinion not a criminal court. You are applying criminal court standards to the public opinion matter. The citizens still have to vote no?

 

Frankly, I don't particularly care about the Kavanaugh/Ford scandal. I saw it as a giant cover for the other political news.

 

Be honest Bluesguy, it is possible that the claims against Kavanaugh were true, although I think the probability is very small. I thought what the feinswine did was despicable, she brought politics to a new low. That said, there was no "proof" that Kavanaugh didn't do those things. He most likely didn't but that is very different than proven that he didn't. I don't think this is a semantics argument either. I think it shows just how sloppy and lazy people are with their thinking.

 

Except for the fact that Kavanaugh didn't face a jury of his peers (I.E. Tobin, Mark and Squi).

He faced a jury of 11 that would acquit him of anything and 10 that would convict him of anything...

I.E. Not a trial...

Nobody in this country is ever declared to be innocent.... you are either guilty or not guilty.... Kavanaugh is currently considered not guilty of sexual assault (not legally, since he was never actually legally charged with that crime).

We all know that Trump can be sloppy with his language....I won't try to parse what he was getting at there, but suffice to say, that literally NONE of it matters, as Justice Kavanaugh took his seat on the court at 9:00 am today....So, let's think about bigger issues than whether or not Trump steps on his own dick at times....

 

Explain....Why would charges that could not be verified be valid?
