I thought I already explained this to you. What "significant brain function" means ? and no - it does not have anything to do with growing or generating cells. It is measurable brain activity on an EEG or similar.

Without significant brain function there is no sentience, no awareness, no cognition, no dreams, no ability to feel pain and so on. It is the measurement used to determine whether or not to pull the plug.

Pulling the plug on a life support machine is simply allowing nature to take its course, allowing the person to die. Killing a fetus is not allowing nature to take its course. There IS a difference!

I admit that I much prefer challenging others on their opinion, as I'm sure you have identified! However, I'm not against giving my own opinion, but it normally requires someone to ask. I already defined what "significant brain function" was - in quite specific detail. Until the wiring of the brain is completed there is no significant measurable brain activity. This makes sense - the electronic highway has not yet been completed. After this process is complete the brain light's up like a Christmas tree.

Determination of what is - and what is not a living human - has nothing to do with letting nature take its course.

There are those that view cognition "significant brain function" as a requirement for personhood. The point of this conversation is to define where that point is. Medical Science has done this - "google is your friend" if you are interested in more specific details.

Abortion - by definition - is changing the course of nature.
