Tens of billions of dollars is a rounding error.

You all are just afraid it will work.

I am not afraid. I actually recently created a thread to advice Dems to let Trump build the wall. It would be politically the best move.

As for the rounding error, I am sure you were that generous with spending billions when Obama was in office.

Sure. I am not much interested in fiscal matters.

In any case, just consider the wall as fiscal stimulus.

    Yeah - too sensible.

    The wall is 100% BS.

    The oligarchy wants illegals.

    We'll have illegals.

    End of story.

Any kind of a passive device will never be 100% effective.

What a wall can do is force law breaker border crossers to bottle necks, where they can be more easily repelled.

Wall + IR capable drones + manpower = super improvement over what we have now.

You have no peer reviewed expert material, only unnamed "experts" from the field.

So? Those are the businesses that should be verifying that they really have American citizens or authorized aliens working on their payrolls?

If walls don't work, why do we use them to contain prisoners? Why do the elite upper class us them to keep people out? Theme parks, Google, Facebook, all use walls to keep people out but all of a sudden walls don't work?

"What if the wall isn’t effective?"

    Then it was poorly designed.

How come these Democrats say they support border security but support sanctuary cities, refuse to vote for Kate's law, release Illegal immigrants from jail before ICE can deport them, without ever explaining what border security they actually do support?

There are thousands of them many with no more than a handful of employees, and a lot of them are cash only just locating them all would require a substantial increase in the number of enforcement personnel.

You are right! Your fallacy is that of degree not kind. The ones I cited have no relevancy of kind to one another. Thus your comparison does not make sense. Thank you, garyd.

    Of course it's effective!

    What are you talking about?

The wall isn't there to stop illegal immigration. That doesn't matter. The far right will go on ranting and raving about illegal immigration and mexihate even if we built a replica of the Great Wall of China.

These are the same people who still go on about imaginary welfare queens two decades after we gave them welfare reform.

They are all about their stereotypes and their racism.

The wall is a bloody shirt, a talisman.

It isn't a border protection measure. It's a monument to fearmongering and bigotry. Don't beleive me? Turn on Fox.

There isn't going to be a wall now.

But if there was, the audience that yelled for it the loudest will go right back to ranting about how hispanics are stealing white people's jobs the day after it was dedicated, and Fox noise and AM talk radio would beat that drum as loud as it ever did.

So the longer the wall is the less effective it is?

Well, you can't be an open border, illegal alien supporting party, and have ideas regarding border security.
