A peer reviewed study by experts is better than BP opinion polls, which one reduced to its main point is that they believe a wall of "strategic points" would be good. That means it would be better than a wall from sea to shining sea.

An integrated barrier of strategic points, crossings, manned stations, roving patrols on the ground and with drones, etc., would be a better use of the money.

We promise to try very hard to make the wall succeed

Whether that makes you more or less happy remains to be seen

I asked for who are these experts you and your leftist buddies are claiming and the backing for their claims. You seem to be having difficulty answering.

My claim that the border agents, the experts in the field, overwhelmingly disagree with your unamed unsourced uncited experts? I provided the cite and the poll.

    Your turn.

You asked for a study. You were quite clear in demanding that it be peer approved. I only ask for the exact same thing you asked for.

    I'll wait.

We will see if you get a wall. If we do get a wall, it will be a failure.

BluesGuy's unnamed 'border agents' are saying things that are not supported by evidence.

You are the one who claims that the wall will work, you are the one who has to back it up.

Same as if I want to produce a new drug, I have to show proof that it works. It's not up to the FDA to show proof that it doesn't work.

So, where is the evidence that the wall will significantly slow illegal border crossings? What if it prevents only 1% of illegal crossings? Then we have spent $30 billion for nothing.

Why Nat Guard? We have border patrol.

Sure, folks could still get in. Getting over a wall with a ladder while people shoot pepper balls at you is no inhuman feat. Pretty sure I seen it in a gameshow before.

But when the prize for success is a holding cell, a rejected assylum application and a bumpy, dusty ride back south, a lot of folks will stop trying. Which is the point, of course.

No one is claiming that the wall by itself will do anything. It is part of a layered defense against unauthorized entry into the country.

    People come here to work
They would not come if there were no work
The fact that people continue to come confirms that they all have a reasonable expectation of finding work. Nevet mind the new illegals, there are certainly millions of illegals already here with jobs. I cannot imagine we are unable to identify illegal workers, to eliminate those jobs, and punish employers who pretend they dont know.

That's sort-a my point. Give trump his wall and he will more than likely still not be happy.
