I’m sure you will be supportive of a Democratic President that does this in regards to climate change, right?

Saluting him because he is holding the entire government hostage and the American people by not allowing a bill to come to the floor that has already passed.

Here we thought cons had already taken the low road but y’all just keep digging down further.

Assigning blame for this massive goat-screw will be left to the historians, but as far as simply ranking the government shutdown itself, I put it thus:

    40% - Trump - For being Trump
30% - McConnell - For not voting on D bills now - He did the right thing on 12/20
25% - Ryan - For not voting on the original Senate bill
5% - Democrats - Just because they aren't completely blameless here, but close

    But it changes daily....

How can you blame Trump at all if nothing has been brought to him to sign? How can you blame Ryan? He's a minority voter in the House...about as powerless as a guy in the trunk of a car.

You can put some blame on McConnell...but he has made it clear he won't waste the Senate's time if there is no agreement

Except the senate has already passed the same bill that McConnell is refusing to bring to the floor. His only goal is to protect trump from vetoing a bipartisan bill approved by congress.

If the Senate has already passed it...the McConnell isn't blocking it....you make no sense.

    Pathetically weak excuse.

In fact, the December 11th meeting was scheduled specificially for the purpose of hammering out a deal.

The Democratic leaders put one on the table. Trump loudly rejected it live on national television and drew his my-way-or-the-highway insistance on his wall.

Then Trump told McConnell he would take the deal. So McConnell got it voted out of the Senate by unanimous consent.

The House has just voted to approve the same deal that Trump already said he would agree to.

The issue is that Trump went back on his word.

No one owes him anything at this point. He betrayed his own Senate leader in a very public way (and not for the first time either),.

McConnell doesn't trust Trump. No one in Washington does.

And that is why McConnell won't move any legislation until Trump publicly agrees to it.

The ball, and the responsibility is very clearly in Trump's court.

You would have a point were it not for the fact that Trump went back on his word. And no, once you make a deal, you don't get to welsch.

Either you're just trolling now, or you really don't know anything at all about politics.

Really? Cause not passing budgets and then the government shutting down till a CR was passed would say otherwise.

    No, it would not.

You Trumpsters are just downright pathetic now. In every case but one, it was the Republicans who forced the shutdown. Every one but one.

The experts say different as I have posted and as I just posted in another thread the MSM is hiding that from the public.

Anyone with a brain cell would realize that the Republicans aren't anything more than obstructionists for the past 10 years. Not a surprise move here at all.

Dumb agreement in light they can override Trump if he refuses to sign. Of course, it being Congress and all, I don't believe they have any brain cells to considered the alternative.
