If white privilege is so great why do some people try so hard to identify as a minority? Why do mixed race people like Obama and Harris identify as black for example? Because they get no special points otherwise...privilege for being a protected class. Nothing special about just another progressive white politician. But check some identity boxes and you’re golden.

I didn't know it was a way to seek special status. Elizabeth Warren did, apparently.

 

The exaggeration to claim American Indian ancestry isn't all that uncommon. Some folks like the idea of having some native American blood like a status symbol. Today to have some African-American blood is also considered a status. Kids want to be like Steph Curry/ Klay Thompson [splash brothers].

 

I await, the b,b,b,b,but, but but..."You're a RACIST " response. Its a logical question. If being white gets you privileges other races don't have, why is it Colleges go out of their way to accept as many minorities as they can? Your average high-achieving middle upper class white student will get lost in a sea of mediocrity, vs a high achieving black student from ANY social class will be pushed to the front...EVERY TIME. Rich, poor, doesn't matter. Black and female...you're almost guaranteed acceptance is long as you have the base qualifications and you can string together some coherent sentences in your essay. Its VERY corrupt.

White privilege is a myth. The BEST thing to be is a smarter than average black female, right now. The world is your oyster.

I'd love to see a tan skinned mixed race person identify as white. But it NEVER happens. They'll identify as whatever victim class they've got some genes in, no matter how white they are. That minority blood is MUCH MORE valuable in college and your career. Its not even debatable.

The transformation to multiculturalism excludes the white race as a form of historic reparation in this country as well as some other nations that colonized countries they invaded. The worst of white privilege during the past few centuries was the enslavement of Africans. The 'antitoxin' so to speak of that horror has not yet been totally realized as illustrated by incidents of past 'black face'/ KKK costumed politicians.
