I see that's funny because I actually get the humor in the comic sketch neop I just don't agree with the politics. It is funny at times. I particularly laughed when he said, "some of you are taking this seriously and you're pissed.". It seems Aussie humor is too sophisticated for bowerbird.

 

Having a gun doesn't give you protection it affords you the ability to use a gun to protect yourself. Not having a gun does not afford you that ability.

So saying a gun doesn't make you safer or any variation of that argument it's a straw man nobody is saying that it does. All it does is a for you the ability to use that level of force defensively. Like it or not that is an absolute tactical advantage.

More guns are stolen from a property than are used in self defense in a property. Hence there is a greater probability that the intruder will use the stolen victim's gun on a victim than the victim will use his gun on the intruder ie it makes you less safe

how do you know? If someone uses their gun defensively it doesn't discharge it and they don't make a police report there's no way to know if that ever happened. And so what if more guns are stolen then used in defense of one's self?

Such sounds like an excellent reason to put an end to releasing convicted felons back into society at large where they pose the greatest risk of harm. If one cannot be trusted to legally own a firearm, then they cannot be trusted to be released back into society.

 

If there was no police report then it also would not be listed as a property crime in the statistics.

Most home owners don't carry their gun on them all the time when at home hence why more guns are stolen than used in self defense. Jim Jefferies described that situation very well.

 

Well, yea, we don't have the same freedom of speech as you do. And I'm glad we don't. Freedom of speech has been abused in the US and is more used to stir up anger in their victim or to encourage anger/violence in others towards a victim
