A land border is a line across a paddock, right? Logically, foreign nationals attempting to cross that line would be released to the side they were originally on. It's absurd to release them on the 'wrong' side.

Under the law, to legally be an immigrant you must have applied for an immigration visa at an American Embassy or consulate in your home country.

After you been vetted by the U.S. State Department and issued an immigration visa you get on a plane or ship and present yourself at an American port of entry.

Now you come under the DHS and you are vetted again and they stamp your passport and you have so many weeks to apply for a permanent alien resident card. (green card)

Once you have your green card and as long as your immigration visa is current, you become an immigrant, a legal alien.

It's so freaking easy, tens and tens of millions of wannabe Americans have done it before.

Yes, it's quite an National Emergency on the border right now.

Once an illegal crosses the border they become the responsibility of the US Government, and come under the protection of our laws. We can't just throw them back over the border.
