The minute that Trump would dare to say, "I order this report's release" -- or -- "I order that this report is issued only in a redacted, summary form", the Democrats would go completely berserk! They'd be raising holy hell that, 'once again', Trump was deliberately obstructing justice and trying to hide something! "IMPEACH, IMPEACH, IMPEACH!"

So, the best thing for Trump to do is what he has obviously decided to do -- let his new Attorney General, William Barr handle this whole thing, and not TOUCH IT personally....

There is a lot of that going on in the Democratic Party these days.

 

There’s a major misconception about what investigations were conducted by Mueller, and what was handled by other offices. For example, in post #652 of this thread you made a comment implying that the Stormy Daniels pay off was a part of the Mueller team investigation. That is not the case, the investigation into campaign hush money (that lead to at least 1 person being criminally charged) was handled by a completely separate office from Mueller's investigation. There were warrants from the Mueller team related to Michael Cohen, however the FBI raid that took place at Cohen's residence was issued by the US attorney's team, and not Mueller's office.

At most, if the Mueller team were to find anything incriminating on anyone that did not relate to the Russian investigation, they would pass that informality down to another office in the justice department(what is known as a "referral"), however Mueller himself would not handle any further legal actions on criminal activity outside of the Russian investigation.

 

You obviously meant to say the Stormy Daniels extortion payment. Was that extortion matter turned to another office ??

 

It is always a possibility that the Mueller team made a referral related to that particular issue, for example, if the Mueller team got a warrant to look into a specific person's emails, and then found incriminating information unrelated to the Russian investigation, what they would do then is make a referral to another office in the justice department.. or even a state level office. However we wouldn't know for sure that there was a referral unless that information were included in a public report. What we do know is the criminal charges related to the hush payments were issued by a different office from the Mueller investigation.

 

When will Stormy be indicted ??

 

When criminal activity by that particular individual is uncovered
