That's what the IRS 's purpose is. Not Congress. The IRS sees his returns each and every year. Every year he's President his returns are audited. You aren't really a lawyer are you?:roflol:

obama used the IRS to target folks. Now the dems in congress are doing the same. Trump is not a danger to our democracy, the democrats are.

Even worse..............the IRS already has Trump under a microscope. No problem. That infuriates the Dems and they say "you aren't trying hard enough, we'll find something!" :roflol:

Just tossing your own words back at you. Putting aside your astonishing arrogance I'll just ask ~ In what way are you implying that Australia is a 'lesser Country?'

Sounds like they should corroborate his claims. I’m glad we agree.

Can you imagine if Republicans tried to subpoena financial records from every elected Democrat in office? Not just Congress, but mayors, judges, governors, etc. The media would go wild with claims of a dictatorship, and people would be rioting in the streets.

Of course, it's not required, but it's always a testament of good faith for elected officials to disclose tax information for whatever reason...

    So, let's subpoena EVERYONES finances.

I dont care about Trumps taxes. I dont care about Bernies. I dont care about my neighbors, my friends, or my family members. I care about mine, and that's all.

    But I'm weird like that.

Not at all, his testimony is less than evidence. It is evidence that it never happened.

Trump and his supporters are afraid. Very afraid.

He knows that he is hiding information that would be very damaging to him politically. Possibly also criminally.

I have a slight problem with what appears to be a probe for information in order to damage a political opponent, but Trump's circumstances are different from any other president. Actually different than pretty much any politician. There is so much that raises questions, that it is completely legitimate to investigate. Here are some examples:
    - while rumors were circulating about Russian interference with the election, Trump lied about his business plans in Russia
    - American banks will not lend to him - and yet he seems to get financing from somewhere
    - his personal lawyer has testified under oath (after having pleaded guilty to perjury once, so we should expect him to be more careful / truthful the second time around) that Trump has committed felony falsification of financial documents

Anyone who says this is a political hit job and that we should apply the same standard to all presidents / politicians is simply a partisan Trump supporter who puts party above the good of the country.

It's whether this is actually oversight of the executive BRANCH. The President is an elected OFFICIAL, Congress does not oversee him as an elected OFFICIAL. They cannot abuse their power simply to harass an elected President. Let them go to court and prove to a judge, you do know the judicial branch oversees the acts of the legislative branch, that there is a necessary legislative need that no other source can provide for them to get the private tax information of a citizen.

That is not their job nor their constitutional role in the government. That is for the IRS and the voters to decide if the IRS finds he has not. Else why not have the Executive Branch start investigations on every member of Congress to insure these powerful people have met all the their financial obligations to the USA. That they must be pure by virtue of the offices they hold

Those agencies have such responsibilities to investigate any probable causes of which have been sorely lacking and have turned up nothing to do with the Trump campaign or Trump himself. If they find a crime then they can report it to the Congress. And I bet that if we go back and investigate every Presidential inagruation we can find some donations that are technically not allowed under the law. Let's not forget even the Obama campaign received one of the largest campaign violations fines ever. Was he impeached and removed for it? Did Congress even hold hearings?

They can't bring a legal proceeding against the President, impeachment is a political proceeding. They cannot fine a President, they cannot imprison a President, they can't even censure a President. They can do one thing impeach and remove a President.

His personal lawyer is a proven liar but if the prosecutors believe there was a crime committed then they can investigate and report it to congress if they find one. It's not for congress to go out and find one.

He already gave that information to the IRS when he filed. Just keep in mind that as you cheer for using the IRS and justice system for political purposes, it will just end up being used against you and what you support.

Who caught Nixon cheating on his taxes?
    Hint: it wasn’t the IRS
