All nice and fluffy... and a bit ridiculous. But, you do realize, Trump won. Lee lost.

Mueller does not in any way say it is possible obstruction. He only includes it because it is something he investigated. There is no possible way Mueller would ever even suggest that curtailing emails to the press is possible obstruction. That would be ludicrous.

Grant tried to justify his invasion of the South.

The fact is he admired Robert E. Lee.

Why would it be really dumb to prosecute people for creating the Russia hoax?

One would need to consider each separate claimed obstruction to determine whether those three items were present. Some proceedings were initiated, but none of the possible instances of obstruction Mueller investigated had anything to do with pending federal judicial proceedings.

I'm looking forward to Mueller's turn at Congressional testimony, I know he doesn't want to testify and I expect a lot of Democrats are going to expect he will dispute Mueller's two simple conclusions; that Mueller didn't find adequate evidence of collusion and couldn't decide whether there was enough for obstruction. What are the Democrats going to do when Mueller confirms he didn't find adequate evidence of collusion and couldn't decide if there was enough for obstruction? I suppose they'll try to get Mueller to acknowledge there could be adequate evidence of collusion that he didn't find, and that others might decide the evidence of obstruction was sufficient.

I suspect the Democrats will throw a bunch of Hypotheticals at Mueller to get him to say "Yes" in those situations. Then they will compare those Hypotheticals as being the same as Trump's actions.

They do? What possibly could give them that notion? Barr dispatched their angry questions with ease and confidence, he showed he knows the law, properly has applied it and governs his conduct in compliance with the pertinent procedure.

I imagine many are hoping Mueller will concur with them that the report suggests enough for there to be sufficient grounds to begin impeachment hearings even if no laws were broken. I believe they would also love to get Mueller to disagree with a point, any point, of his discussions with Barr so they can continue their attacks upon Barr. I feel it will just be more frustration for them.

Who cares what your perceptions are. You are crying over a report that clearly proves Trump never colluded with Russia.

Time for Conservatives to admit the folly of their ways, bend over and grab the ankles, axe Democrats for forgiveness and abandoned Trump. Right? :confusion:

    You're spinning.
He's suggesting, of course, Trump may have been keeping the emails hidden from everyone. including investigators.

    Grant, in his memoirs:

"I never ranked Lee as highly as some others of the army -- that is to say, I never had as much anxiety when he was in my front as when Joe Johnston was in my front. Lee was a good man, who had everything in his favor. He was a man who needed sunshine. He was supported by the unanimous voice of the South, he was supported by a large party in the North. He had the support and sympathy of the outside world. All this is of immense advantage to a general. Lee had this in a remarkable degree. Everything he did was right. He was treated like a demi-god. Our generals had a hostile press, lukewarm friends, and a public opinion outside. The cry was in the air that the North only won by brute force, that the generalship and valor were with the South. This has gone into history with so many illusions that are historical. Lee was of a slow, conservative, cautious nature, without imagination or humor, always the same with grave dignity. I could never see in his achievements what justifies his reputation. The illusion that nothing but heavy odds beat him will not stand the ultimate light of history. I know it is not true. Lee was a good deal of a headquarters general, a desk general, from what I hear, and from what his officers say. He was almost too old for active service -- the best service in the field. At the time of the surrender he was fifty-eight or fifty-nine, and I was forty-three. His officers used to say he posed himself, that he was retiring and exclusive, and that his headquarters were difficult of access."

Trump is a freebooting con man. There's nothing he could say or do at this point that would convince most Americans otherwise. The election is Democrats' to win or lose.
