    You mean federal judges shouldn't be deciding cases that implicate both the Constitution and federal statutes?

    Except they didn't.

    Research before posting. The Census Act and the Constitution were implicated. This had zero--nada--NOTHING to do with "states rights". Why do you suppose the Bonespurs administration (not the states, ferfucksake) wanted the question inserted into the census questionnaire?
