    BMW was ranked as the MOST REPUTABLE COMPANY IN THE WORLD a few years ago. Volkswagons are cute cars for college kids and the jetta is espescially popular with women and gay men, but they are not the example of German excellence in engineering and quality. BMW, the most reputable of all companies in the world is!! This fact shatters everything that has been said questioning German manufacturing and quality in this thread.

    Boeing screwed up big time... people died and families grieve..when will the Max fly again...the point was quality control...Boeing corrupted the FAA.

    I have friends who own BMWs and while they love the tech and comfort they always whine about frequent breakdowns and the costs of the repairs. BMWs are cool cars, but only to those who buy cars brand new and only for the first couple of years. After that those cool cars become cool cars of Eastern European and Mexican immigrants who cry about the never ending costs of the repairs.

    German aircraft carrier will never happen.
    Germany needs to get its current Army, Air Force and Navy into shape.
    They have all the toys, but can not really use them, because the supply side, especially spare parts, is still not in the proper shape.

    All correct, but after 4-5 weeks their fuel cell is out of juice. They are meant for Baltic and North Sea and the Meds.

    Facts are facts. German engineering and quality are unsurpassed. If they build an aircaft carrier it will be top of the line.

    Also, BMW is not a representation of good engineering.
    If you want to see good engineering in Germany - look up Siemens.

    Those funds are already there in the SLS/Orion programs and SpaceX and others are doing the rest.

    It would seem your understanding of military ship technology could be refreshed. An Aircraft Carrier is not a BMW and cannot afford to break down.....just ask Russia.

    Germany should never be allowed a single aircraft carrier period. Germany started two world wars, killed millions of people, as far as I am concerned they should not even be allowed to have a sling shot.

    No, this is the right thing for Germany to do. The EU should do more under thier own guidelines and not be dependent on the US for force projection.
