The united states has never been anything but a dangerous place to live. Such is just becoming more acknowledged by the foolish public who believed the illusion of safety was real.

I live in a small town, far from Baltimore and Chicago with their mass murders. I feel very safe

Ultimately for taxation purposes. Such is why even minor violations carry such hefty fines and penalties, even when the violation does not actually put anyone at risk of harm.

Not just that but if you read the TWONK manifesto he clearly states he WANTED to be Shoah as that would be preferable to being in prison for the rest of his life

    “Suicide by cop”. idiot

Same here. The last three towns I've lived in I never locked our doors except at night. Never had any problems.

Agreed...I am however, unlikely to be around for the results. Thing is....once you accept that everything becomes better and more tolerable.

Why the **** would we want to? The Queen is a nice old duck who doesn’t interfere in our politics and we get an extra layer of people we can prop up at functions without pulling our pollies off the job

The state of Texas does not permit the open carrying of firearms.

    Sadly yes.

We have had 3 mass shootings in 23 years

Two murder suicides of families and one idiot bikie in Darwin who shot five people and we are talking about beefing up our gun laws again since these three incidents have happened in the last few years.

    We don’t like mass shootings

Port Arthur was enough for us just as Christchurch was enough for New Zealand. Yes there will always be ways in which humans can commit mass slaughter on other humans but that does not mean we have to make it easy for them

Why do people have this idea that most or even a large percentage of people in Texas carry firearms?

Texas has nearly 30 million people give or take. Think New Zealand and Australia combined. Or all the countries in Scandinavia and the Benelux nations combined. They are not that different from people across rest of the United States.

No but it IS a “concealed carry” state is it not?

Would not have mattered in this case since he was wanting to be shot

    Sometime I get the feeling.....

I guess I have just read too many posts along the lines of

    “There are more deaths by........”
“Fewer people are killed than .......”
“Mass shootings are not that common”

This ad was made by two Aussies who had moved to the USA and who were shocked that this is taught in American schools - it is not even thought about being taught here

I think to a extent people already knew this is a dangerously is place to live, but it crossed a line when you can no longer pray or buy groceries without being shot.

Unless there is evidence to prove the contrary, it is safe to operate on the assumption that the location in question prohibited the legal carrying of firearms by members of the public. Just as has been witnessed with numerous other mass shootings that occur in public venues. Thus meaning only the perpetrator was armed at the time of the incident, and suggesting he went out of his way to select a location where he knew or had reason to believe he would not be met with return fire from potential victims.

To think the El Paso shooting was caused by the debates is ridiculous thinking.
