They don't understand what racism is. They can only imagine it in the way they were indoctrinated by higher education.
Males didn’t have to compete with more than half the population for top colleges and jobs. I remember having a much higher average than the boy sitting next to me and I couldn’t apply to an elite public school and he did and got accepted. In New York City the city college is required boys to have an 87 average to get in and girls needed a 91. Wasn’t that affirmative action for males?
I love how the uneducated accuse those who are educated of being indoctrinated. The uneducated don’t realize all the research and thinking that goes into being educated and in their fantasies they believe that history and science are all made up The fact that you have to ask me to show you hate groups popping up just proves that education is something righties don’t like. Why don’t you just look up the Southern poverty Law Center that studies this. But then of course your call it fake news or some other pejorative
Yes and may be called institutional sexism but the comment was "plenty of 'highly educated' and 'sophisticated' Progressives are extremely racist". "Plenty" is a vague subjective word. It can mean anything from very few to most depending on your view point. I would not doubt there are a few racist progressives but they are betraying their philosophy and therefore unethical people. He was responding to my comment. I said people with little worldly knowledge may be racist. A person from a small town that never personally knew a black person or a black person that only knows the mean Korean at the bodega are examples, but what I think he was reacting to is conservatives are more racist. That is because conservatives tend be more fearful, mistrustful and look for negative qualities in the "other", people outside their group.
Are you a black woman? I can tell you missed me. I missed you too. Sometimes it's good to have someone argue with you and tell you how they are a know it all. lol
Not to my knowledge. Most I know don't give a damn about what others are doing, as long as they can live their life. I was going right along with you until the last few sentences.
They're the most likely to deny non-whites agency - they do it all the time by demonising any who think for themselves. They also foster helplessness, relentlessly. A classic power move. It's 21stC White Supremacism. FAR more problematic than the 20thC stuff .. which was overt and never very popular.
It seems their comprehension of racism stops at 'mid 20thC cartoonish'. And they tell us they're the intellectuals.
They're idiots. As long as others are smart enough to have some perspective, there is no worry. That's the concern with both the far right and the far left. Right?
And earlier. That's why I can't even read that stuff. I tried. They spread stereotypes and continue them within their own communities and others. It's propaganda of a sort. Yes, blacks need representation, but not that kind. It's like they think blacks are stupid. I have to disagree with that.
They do, absolutely. We actually know people who declare themselves passionate SJWs and 'racism fighters', yet talk to us like we're hard of hearing or 6 years old. It's appalling. I'm usually torn between being acutely embarrassed for them, and wanting to punch them. Either way, the uneducated working class rednecks we deal with don't even do that.
Well, it isn't you. It's them. How could they know where you really want to go, I mean what the correct goal is?
I know a few people that like black people but don't like n'ers which means the thug life that is celebrated and acted on. Me? I have lived in mixed neighborhoods most of my life whether Mexican or black. Now that I live in a gentrified part of downtown and I still live in a mixed neighborhood. As for the white people in the 'gentrified' neighborhood, most are liberal. Most of us don't care what others do as long as they don't intrude on our lives. Most of us, black, white, whatever, just want to be left alone to live our own lives the way we see fit. I have never known anyone that would be considered a 'white supremacist'. Yes, I have known racists, but not white supremacists. Had one neighbor that said, back when Obama was running, that America should vote him in then when he is assassinated, it would be over. She also threatened to shoot me because I complained about her rooster that woke me up at 4 in the morning when I was working two jobs. She was what would be considered a 'redneck'. Everyone has opinions. Some you may not like or agree with but most do not act out on them. The current strain of 'white supremacists' talk by the left want to target and vilify people with opinions that are no real threat. For them the idea that people have different opinions cannot be tolerated.
Why do you think Whites are the most racist people? Most of the brown people I run into are prejudiced against Whites.
Or they don't agree with your definition of racism. You can only imagine it the way you were indoctrinated.
Then why are all of the racist organizations full of right-wingers? You should read up on personality traits. I can provide you with reading material if you wish. Right-wing talking points that are unproven hog wash. Where is the evidence of racist intent?
