And, Coats and his career intelligence deputy resigned three days later. My theory is that this was just a first step. If Zelensky "bought in" and provided incriminating evidence against Biden, the next step would have been to fabricate evidence that would be used to justify a pardon for Manafort. IMO, Manafort still has things to say, that the administration doesn't want him to say.

The market dropped 200 points when they thought Trump was in trouble on this, now the transcript is out... and the market sees it's just another NOTHING BURGER and are back to trading.

If there were any fear the dems were onto something the rational money class would respond differently

The real issue is that the Democratic party is trying to overthrow a legally elected President of the United States. This is an act of treason. Everyone who supports this action is a party to treason. The Democrats must pay for this.

These fools should have listened to Admiral Akbar.

They ran right into it with their face, full speed.

Ok, kids. Let's play a little game. I give you part of a conversation and you make up a story to explain it. Be creative, use your imagination, but toss in a few "facts" just to make it sound real.
    [/sarcasm]

Personally, I don't think the whole impeachment thing is a good idea. Of course, Pelosi is kind of shrewd and may be baiting Trump because she knows he reacts out of instinct. She might have a plan.

Oh, so now we are getting into the legal definition and blurring lines here a bit.

Here's a scenario of hearsay outside the court room. My uncle was in the navy during the apollo missions and was in one of the task groups that recovered the apollo 16 astronauts and capsule, as I recall. So if someone was to tell me the moon landings were faked, and i offered that second hand information from my uncle as proof to refute the claim, how would you weigh my hearsay evidence?

As for in court, the reason hearsay isn't allowed as evidence is because the US legal system doesn't allow us to punish someone who can't confront their accusers. Witnesses are accusers. So if someone asks a witness to talk to something they didn't directly see, how can a defense attorney cross-examine them? They just say, that's what someone told me. So to save time, we don't allow it. We require the person who witnessed it to testify to it in court.

We aren't in court. And hearsay isn't inherently incorrect. It's not allowed in court for the reason I stated above. I don't doubt a whistle blower's complaint simply because the information was second hand. What we need to see, again, is the complaint compared to the summary (not a transcript per his own transcript) released. Then we can start to draw conclusions. Right now, you are basing a conclusion on a belief that all second hand information is unreliable. We don't even know for certain the information was received second hand at this point, so we can't even validate that yet.

Oh we should absolutely put the "whistle blower" in front of the cameras, after swearing them in.

I agree that Pelosi has a plan. She doesn't strike me as the impulsive type. I'm also skeptical about impeachment, as she appears to be. Plans work out or not sometimes. But I think she's taking a calculated risk, as is Trump. She's betting that she slow roll impeachment through the election and hedge her bets, and Trump is betting impeachment will be so distasteful that people will sympathize with him and re-elect him and the GOP majority in the senate. Neither is anymore a valid bet and we won't know until 2020 who's risk works out.

Dems: squinting at every word looking for signs of corruption.

Trump supporters nodding in a approval as he leverages his desire for other first world nations to play are larger support role in international aid & defense.
Trump supporters nodding in approval as he takes shots at his political enemies, and completely contradicts everything the Dems are whinging about.
Trump supporters nodding in approval as he punches his buzz words, "drain the swamp, my people best people, their people just the worst."

Kinda like how no Democrat actually voted for Clinton, to hear them talk.

The market already knew that when Trump admitted to talking to Ukraine about Biden, it would show in the transcript. Therefore, the information was already priced in. If the impeachment threat had been lifted today, the market would have rallied.

So much for my market timing advice, which actually has 0 credence :).

    That's what I'm thinking.

Trump went fishing and trolled the Democrats and the Democrats took the bait, hook line and sinker.

    Guess who that actually hurts.

I'll give you a hint: it isn't Trump.

Hearsay is permitted in the court after it meets one of several dozens of exceptions.

Then you are blind, it is right there in black and white at the bottom of page 2 and the top of page three, where Zelensky asks for more Javelins and Tramp says he needs a favor. QUID PRO QUO!

Zelensky: We are almost ready to buy more Javelins from the US
Trump: I would like you to do us a favor though

Bull crap, there is no absolutely nothing illegal in that transcript at all. It is the president's job to look into any corruption and if a foreign government has it it's his job to do it. Are you saying we should've impeached Obama for using a Russian written dossier or for calling them to find out the details and tell them to knock it off? That's beyond dumb.
