The fact that the Trump administration has released this transcript makes it much harder for them to claim that the whistleblower complaint should remain secret because of their expansive view of privileged communications. They have publicly disclosed those communications and so privilege is waived.

 

That was beyond a dumb effort at spinning his argument and an even worse attempt at finding an analogous situation.

Based on what? I don't think you understand the money class that well. Stock markets go up and down for hundreds of reason every day. I have financial manager who was talking UP the opportunities tariffs created...by investing in other countries and moving money out of US stocks, despite Trump's claims of all the help they would bring. So to a money person, there is not "good" or "bad", only opportunities. I think you're just engaged in a little motivated reasoning. That's fine, but have the integrity to cop to it.

From my quick reading, the call in and of itself, is troubling, but not the whole story.. you have to combine it with the unexplained delay in the aid package.. it's the 2 separate, yet likely connected, events that tell the story of this extortion..

 

What did they ask? Which candidate's re-election did this benefit?
