A large percentage of people who feels that their interests are suffering because of a particular person in charge (be it a little league team or a nation) thinks the person not placating them is a criminal of some kind.
Rules that help me are made by my competent friends, rules that hurt me are made by ignorant jackasses. Once so classified, that applies to everything they do- until they make ME happy. Human nature.
Right now, the libs/dem and friends are in the hurt class- number one reason is they lost the elections after braying like jackasses all through the campaigns about what a fool Trump was to think he could win. It's not a matter of being above the law at all. It's a matter of whether or not the particular configuration of laws serves their particular interests.
The president CANNOT write legislation- that can only be done by Congress. This is why we have 535 congressmen- and 13,700 registered lobbyists being paid to influence the legislation those congressmen create and vote on. That's about 26 paid con men for each member of congress. 1274 of them are working for big pharma, about two for every member of congress. Lots more that are unpaid, but working hard to do the same thing. These people's first objective- Keep drug prices high.

Big pharma has a huge stake in that- and unlike most politicians, Trump doesn't bend much to the political pressures and influence. Of course he is their enemy; he might actually inspire common sense change that
bring drug prices under some sort of control- and that might mean that the Tylenol on your hospital bill can no longer be charged at $15 a pill.

Would you impeach someone working to get you fair health costs? Of course, if it's Trump. Hate is hardly going to be restrained by common sense and logic. At least the lobbyists are admitted mercenaries, they get paid to influence things to their employers advantage. The haters do what they do free, and are willingly ignorant and unaware of who and where the damage they do really falls.

Will McConnell allow the Senate to even debate this bill, much less vote on it? Small chance. And if by some miracle he does, will Trump sign it? One can only hope. As someone on Medicare with two chronic pre-existing conditions, my prescriptions are one of my biggest expenses, so it matters to me. The prices of my two most costly meds hve gone up this year, not down.
