    Yes.

The oversight powers of congress allow them to demand documents and testimony from throughout the execuive branch.

The House must follow a procedure that was established by Republivans when they were in power.

This is somewhat like a criminal case in that it requires investigation, specific charges to be drawn, etc.

Today, we're in the investigation phase.

Well, he didn't expect to win. That's where his scheme went horribly awry.

Their desperation at what is being uncovered compels them to behave like idiots in the hope of making the serious pursuit of truth appear idiotic.

Former prosecutor and Congressional committee chairman, Republican Trey Gowdy who had conducted closed-door hearings:

“What we learned this past week is how utterly useless public congressional hearings are... I think two closed-door sessions this past week on the Senate and House side with the intelligence committees were very helpful."

    And yet:

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/08/opinions/clinton-impeachment-gop-hypocrisy-avlon/index.html

And read through this carefully, as it demonstrates the current hearings are well within legal grounds and congressional precedent.

the whole point of the initial closed door hearings is to protect the anonymity of those questioned. Hell, Trump calls whistleblowers traitors and alludes to executing them. In the current political/social climate, that's not too bright. The results of the hearings are given to Congress, names and all.

CNN does fact checks? Zucker said CNN's job was to impeach Trump. not report the news ,,, as though we needed him to tell us that. Journalistic malpractice that compares favorably with ABC, author of the report that the Kurds were being decimated using videos from the Knob Creek Practice Range in Kentucky.

So when eh Republicans staged their “walk in” they left out some VERY important details:

    1. Many of them (from reports possibly up to 32) have been INVITED to the hearings

    2. Lee Zelden (R- NY) tweeted yesterday that he has “been in every depo thus far”

So they were invited, and they ARE in the hearings and depositions !!!!!! They are literally LYING to make political hay.

I await every republican out here to post their apology and/or retract their statements !

Ah, then after each session, the prosecutor emerges from a session that no one but he is allowed to discuss and cherry picks passages from the testimony to broadcast to 300 million people to include the jury pool of Senators. IC. So the cherry picked passages, that exclude the cross examination that totally debunked the cherry picked testimony is supposed to be secret until the jury pool is totally brainwashed.

You aren't making sense at all. What do you mean by "oh...you can't..." Can't do what? And what do you mean by not getting it going? Getting what going? The impeachment is going, and it's going along just fine ... carefully and within House rules.

I'm sorry if the truth hurts. It often does. I'm sorry that you find yourself on the losing side in this. That's never comfortable. It really does suck to be in the minority.

    Good link, thanks.

It is interesting to note that of the four dozen Republicans on those three committees, few have chosen to actually be in the SCIF, much less ask questions. Instead, many of those allowed to be in the room chose to participate in that big stunt, protesting the secrecy they claim is keeping them in the dark.

The GOP knows by now that the facts are not in their favor, nor is the law in their favor. Making noise about the process is all they have.
