    What I think will be interesting is seeing how Republicans treat Sondland. After all, he was the ambassador that Trump cited as proof positive that no QPQ took place...before altering his testimony to say that he personally delivered a QPQ on behalf of Trump.

    The guy is a mega donor to Trump, so do Republicans go the route of arguing that he lied under oath and thus his testimony should not be trusted? Or do they go the route of using his natural allegiance to Trump to try and bolster Trump's defense?

    Why do you think he "allowed them to invade Ukraine?" You think the U.S. electorate would have supported going to war over a country with whom we had no military alliance? Putin was in Syria before Obama. Russian presence may be traced to their naval bases on Syrian soil. And, Putin did help us in ridding Syria of WMD, at one point, when the U.S. Congress refused to give Obama a resolution on an armed response to the Syrian WMD attacks. Obama warned Putin verbally of the cyber-attacks. Putin ignored him. Obama sought bi-partisan support before the election to make a joint public announcement on the attacks and a further bi-partisan warning. Mitch McConnell refused and threatened to claim it was a Democratic false claim, if Obama announced it without Republican support. Obama waited until after the election and then ordered the intelligence agencies to prepare a public report to be made prior to his departure from office. That occurred in early January 2017.

    I have no idea what these people are cooking up... All I can figure is they'll try to get Sondland to say he misunderstood Trump and he put the Aid for investigations together himself instead of hearing that directly from Trump.

    It's what I'd do... and it really doesn't change much. The aid was withheld and Trump asked for politically motivated investigations. I'd like to think a confirmation of that would change minds, but if there's no Nixon tape, it won't (doubtful it would even with tape)...

    Didn't the left tell us we should fight Turkey to save the Kurds?

    Oh Obama warned Putin about the cyber attacks. Maybe he drew some red lines in the server room.

    You guys can spin this however you want while trying to call Trump a "russian asset".

    It's not going to get rid of the reality that Obama was an invertebrate compared to Trump regarding Russia.

    In his testimony last month, Sondland undercut part of that argument, telling congressional investigators that he texted the phrase only after it was relayed to him directly by Trump. He also said he had been working to carry out one quid pro quo — bartering a White House visit coveted by Ukraine’s new president, Volodymyr Zelensky, for assurances his administration would carry out the investigations Giuliani demanded, including an inquiry into an energy company, Burisma, where Joe Biden’s son Hunter held a board seat.

    In a “supplemental declaration” provided to the House impeachment inquiry Monday, Sondland wrote, “I now recall speaking individually” with a Ukrainian official and in that conversation saying “that resumption of U.S. aid would likely not occur until Ukraine provided the public anti-corruption statement that we had been discussing for many weeks.”

    Sondland’s new statement adds to testimony by other national security officials that describes an effort directed by Trump and his personal attorney Rudolph W. Giuliani to link nearly $400 million in security assistance to investigations that could politically benefit the president.
