    Never heard of them.

Back to the topic, WHY do LW desperately need to categorize their political opposition as "authoritarian" besides projection? (we already know the projection part, has been evidenced in the thread by myself and others) It's because during adulthood, when other people "grow up" and start to discriminate and think rationally about the world around them, a process and inquiry that BRINGS THEIR OWN PRIOR BEHAVIOR INTO QUESTION, LW cling to (with ever increasing ferocity) a form of infantilism that is infinitely forgiving of their own faults and past behavior, and conveniently SHIFTS and RATIONALIZES blame to others not responsible via convenient, circular labeling, "authoritarian," "conservative," and all the VAST amount of labels they apply to their political opposites that they howl endlessly when done to them. Their politics are a reflection of their infantile personality struggle with cognitive dissonance. If nothing is good or bad, right or wrong, then everything I do is acceptable. Then they project this out onto the entire world, the psychic wounds of the disorder are that pronounced.

Normal people GROW. LW FREEZE in a spiral of cognitive dissonance and self-medication via the false pill that the entire world is composed of only pure victims and pure oppressors. It's the only thing that makes the delusion work, all must suffer it or none do.

In other words, whatever can be recreated as a victim, no matter how unreasoned and fallacy-laden the path to victimhood ends up being, MAY NEVER BE BLAMED, MAY NEVER BE FAULTED. It's always "those others" who "victimized" me, the more "victim" crabs in that barrel, the more comfortable and acceptable an otherwise absurd worldview. What personality disorder does this resemble? That's easy, it's pure narcissistic infantilism. The talk in the following video describes the preceding, which is a summary of its key points... other than the narcissism, that's my claim, the speaker in the video doesn't go that far but I will because 10 years after this speech was made, we are becoming FED THE F UP with infantile, narcissistic Leftism.

The points in the above video are why they perpetually HIDE, DISCREDIT, VILIFY things that don't fit their infantile, narcissistic, financially self-serving world view and narratives. See, for one of -many- examples, the following:

Be honest Lefties, have you heard of the above person? Of course not. I could find -0- videos by CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR, PBS on this slam dunk human interest story, or your other lie media other than fever blog crap linked below. Wonder why that is? On the off-chance you've heard of him, you have heard of it through the spin of your corrupt lying media:

Note the like/dislike ratio on the above TYPICAL LW GARBAGE (pun intended) and the comments. Backlash against these gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex OPPORTUNISTS and their sick, infantile, narcissistic useful idiot voting blocs is forming, and forming fast. Trump is only John the Baptist. After 50+ years of the cultural disease of Leftism, the U.S. is FINALLY waking up.

WHO ARE THE AUTHORITARIANS AGAIN? WHO TOLERATES NO VARIATION FROM A PARTY LINE? WHO PERPETUALLY ADVOCATES FOR MORE AND MORE PATERNALISTIC LEVIATHAN STATE? WHO PERPETUALLY SALVES THEIR OWN CULTURAL NARCISSISM VIA FAKE VICTIMHOOD?

There is no need at all for Narratives when one has Truth and the
American way on their side. That is why " Narratives " are the
exclusive province of the Democrat Party and their Waterboys in the
    Mainstream media.

A characteristic of Authoritarian governments is to fill their followers' heads with false and misleading information.

Did some looking into this group. Q.E.D. of the long post above. The wiki page is a crystal clear example of the prevailing LW "liberal" damaged psyche at work.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_Prayer

Notice the over the top efforts by LW to lay the mustard on way too thick as evidenced by the talk page attached to the wiki entry. There are TENS OF THOUSANDS of other examples of this transparent white-hat black hat hyperbole on Wikipedia, OVERWHELMINGLY committed by LW-Complex "liberals." It has become so pervasive that knowledgeable information and other professionals no longer consider Wikipedia a reasonable source of information on -any- topic that even tangentially relates to politics.

Why are they forced to overwork every ideological appeal? Why must everything be completely polar? Why do they make the error thinking functional, sane adults respond to this Star Wars type "victim/villain white hat-black hat" excess when it is actually counterproductive and obvious?

Because that is how their infantilized minds view the world. Nothing other than absolute polarity salves the cognitive dissonance to allow the necessary narcissistic delusion to persist for an adult-child perpetual, blameless "victim."

More a play on those who wish to label outside their clique authoritarian, while not considering that political systems themselves have an authoritarian rule to them.

If one person’s justice is another’s totalitarianism, then we all as individuals have something we find it worth being authoritarian for.

Can't argue with that. Problem is that when things like this happen and the horrible aspects, or results, are finally realized- it's extremely hard to reverse the damage done. Impossible in some areas.

Socialism is an ideology of theft, there can be no greater show of authoritarianism than the state blatantly stealing from the citizens. Anyone who loves freedom should oppose socialism in all its wicked forms...

It is almost comical, in an Outer Limits kind of way, listening to a conservative going on about liberals. Of course we are not "real" liberals because it doesn't fit the narrative.

I'm pretty sure that I have been quite liberal all my life. Can't say that I have ever been as many conservatives believe liberals to be. I'm not sure where you get your narrative, but it does not come from the liberal experience. Seems quite made up.

As a kid it often occured to me that conservatives/Christians tended to need an enemy. Apparently Jesus wouldn't have anything to save one from if there was no devil. The Soviet Union made a pretty good enemy. After all they were godless communists. Professional sports team fans tend to act the same way. That need to have an enemy to hate, to show how great the hero is. Kind of weird, an enemy at one end and a worshiped leader at the other end. Seems to me it would make one rather skittish.

Not sure why you would want to characterise me as infantile, other than just a lame excuse for an insult. And you to think, you call me infantile.

Socialism is an infantile response to the success of others.

There are damn few liberals left.

Since Vietnam the democratic party has been dominated by leftists and progressives.

Obama learned from a man whose biggest regret was not doing enough terrorism in America during Vietnam protests.

It would be great if the Establishment would stop inundating the public with propaganda but, that is what Authoritarian Governments do.

Early in my career I was working for a top five defense contractor. Tens of thousands of employees. At the time the corporation was going through growing pains, and was experimenting with different management and organizational methods. They were gearing up for for a new project, and decided, for the employees of each functional group to decide their organization and to choose their leader.

My functional group was design engineering, with each member having certain technical skills. There was one fellow, a by the book kind of guy, who was lobbying hard for the leadership position.

A certain idea had been brewing in my mind for some time. The idea was that the leadership position should change hands each month. First one would hold the position as secretary for a month, then as the assistant leader for a month, and then leader for a month. The project was expected to last two to three years, thus each team member was sure to be in a leader position one or two times. The group voted overwhelming for my plan. The by the book guy, and another guy, who called me a communist, got so upset that they transfered out. Which was okay with me as we were able to find a couple of guys who were much better to fill their places.

Turns out our group was unique. Every other group had just voted for a supervisor and that was that. Ours had a revolving leadership, which caused top management to pay special attention. Turned out that our group worked very well together. So much that we got fancy plaques and nice little bonuses. A leaderless, highly effective group outperforming a hierarchical organized group.

Correct - it is the natural tendency of Gov't to increase its power. The founders put in safeguards against this tendency - to limit the power of Gov't. For 200 years Gov't has been trying to get that power back - and it has succeeded.

The canaries in the coal mine of totalitarianism are screeching - Orwellian propaganda being created and disseminated on the US public via our intelligence agencies and state media apparatus - is one of the harbingers of totalitarianism and of the Pall Bearers of individual liberty.

Here you are, decrying the loss of authoritarian rule over children. That is how conservatives are made. Less authoritarian rule over children, less that grow up to be conservstive. Parents who hug their children and play with them, tend to have better children, who grow up to be liberals.

And how has that effort been going ? - especially on the Red side who are supposed to be the party of small Gov't. We just expect Blue to do it. Them Reds however are even worse -- princesses with credit cards they be.

The founders did not fear the power of the government, they feared individuals who would put their ambitions above the country. The purpose of the Constitution was to lay out the organization of the government, not to limit it. The limits in the constitution are designed to limit the passions of men. The government is who keeps predators at bay. Weaken the government and strengthen predators.

Oh, you, the maker of -this- thread, don't like being stereotyped and having your psyche mischaracterized and insulted? Well Fing imagine Fing that. I see. We ALL see.

    1) The founders greatly feared the power of Gov't and wanted to limit it - Classical Liberalism 101 - do feel free to ask for a quote
    2) I never mentioned the Constitution. I realize it is a natural response and in part the Constitution does set out some limits to Gov't power - contrary to your claim.

The limits to Gov't power are set forth in the principles on which this nation was founded - principles by which law and the Constitution are to be interpreted - as per the Declaration of Independence and by the definition of what a Constitutional Republic is.

    3) It is true that part of the legitimate authority of Gov't is to keep predators at bay . This has nothing to do with other forms of power that are not the legitimate authority of Gov't.

I am positive that those statements apply to some conversation
with someone somewhere perhaps in another universe.
But I don't see the relevance here.
