Btw news say the sanctions only delay the completion to 11th january. Bloomberg says the pipeline is completed at 11th january. Amd after tests will start operation between april and june.

 

Von Braun recommended various things for political reasons not actual technical reasons. He was big on recommending "bases" of various types because he believed if the U.S. built an expensive asset that it would be politically impossible to simply abandon them in the future.

 

What sense does it make to fly to the moon without having a base there? The goal is to colonize the solar system.

Very good. German DIW (Institute for Energy politics) was tasked to find answers for the US sanctions and says Germany should not ignore the sanctions.

While Merkel said she will simply ignore it and continues to build the pipeline, the DIW says Germany and the EU should install environmental tariffs on US fracking gas.

Speaker Kemfert said, we are in an economic war and an attack must be answered. By installing environmental tariffs on US LNG, it would be basicly pushed out of the european market.

In all cases so far USA buckled, simply because Trump cant afford his voter base to suffer. Germany and EU have been quite specific and so far targeted explicit republican states.

By pushing tariffs on american LNG, its pushed out of business in Europe.

German sanctions are EU sanctions. So far we decided all in that regard for us.

Bad news for you buddy, Nordstream 2 got an emergency permission today to allow construction during winter months. Normally work was banned from end december to february to protect birds.

This was changed today. Its also revealed the gap is smaller than 300 km.

I dont know who needs who more. What i know is, that construction continues as planned. The pipeline is completed at 11th January. With a 3 weeks delay. And will be operational between april and june.
