America won't be there in 20 years if the climate emergency takes us out in 12 years, right?

By the way, I broke a shoestring the other day. Most irrational people would blame Trump, but I knew better and blamed global warming. :p

Please back up your statement that Iran is far from defenseless. All the US has to do is declare a blockade and Iran's days are numbered.

Nations have interests, not friends. Putin could care less about Iran, except insofar as they're opposed to US and the whole region is super-critical. What Putin would LOVE to see- what he would toss Iran over a cliff for in a heartbeat- is an American-Iranian war.

Beto is an oxymoron. Moron yes, but why insult male cattle used as draft animals.

Didn't know Libertarians were pacifists. Isolationists maybe.

this might just add to the anti-american sentiment that is growing world wide. One cannot keep blaming others for the US behavior. There are consequences to US behavior too...........

BTW: where is this intelligence that supposedly prompted this action?? It is like De ja vu............"clear and present danger...............( Via Bush's BS about Iraq.)

Regretfully.....the Trump regime has even less credibility than bush had. Trump is very reckless........and impulsive and self centered............so he has to question his motives.

This is an assassination : an execution.... which brings in the legality of it. Or does the law apply to everyone but the US?? If so.......then the US is gong rogue.

Except in the real world, you can't just drop a bunch of bombs, kill a bunch of people, destroy a country's infrastructure, and just walk away. I guess you can, if you want to become a super-villain, but I don't think Americans are there yet, so what you would see in an Iranian war is what we saw with Iraq: a brief war, chaos, and then a decade-long nation-building. And Iran is four times the size of Iraq.

We aren't. Pacifist was used incorrectly, and applies to neither Texans nor Libertarians.

Hmmm...a) a blockade is an act of war. Trump would need the approval of Congress. b) He would also need Putin's approval, which might be more difficult to get than Congressional approval. One of the great logistical WW II pathways for Allied supplies to the USSR was through Iran...a pathway that runs in two directions.

My mistake...but as Alan Greenspan once said (an Ayn Rand follower), there is only one reason for our Iraq invasion, oil. And, I thought everyone knew it. Being anti-oil and Texan is also an oxymoron. [Allan forgot the other reason...Israel. I doubt Israel will look approvingly on our departure from the ME, leaving their Saudis neighbors, with a half trillion dollars in U.S. weapon sales, to watch their backs.]

Declaring a blockade means nothing. Enforcing it results in a shooting war.

We are not going to war. We have oil-trade allies in the Middle East....namely UAE and Saudi Arabia. Pompeo's been busy all day on the phone talking de-escalation. His latest Tweet reads that he told the Iranian President that the U.S. is taking a "defensive" position. We are not going to strike unless we are attacked.

Where did Beto go? My guess is that he'll get the VP slot or a cabinet position. Anymore talk of him running against Cornyn? I don't think I've seen Cornyn smile in the last three years.

Gee, most recessions have been preceded by a jump in oil prices. The gop is due for one. Who would have thought that Trump's imbecilic foreign policy moves would have stated it.

The military carries the flag...and commerce follows. Tough to form a U.S.-Saudi oil consortium without the military to guard it.

Killed over 600 Americans and fomenting terrorism in Iraq among other countries. Iranian people were showing their support for his demise. Quit apologizing for terrorists.

Deescalate? You can't unkill a senior general. How do you think we would feel, had Iran just killed one of our top generals? It doesn't matter how they feel, really. No leader could survive politically if he didn't retaliate after the assassination of a top official. Iran's going to do something of a similar nature to us.

    Nope, it says:

"... the increased mortality trend for hematological malignancies in males during 2006–2015 might be associated with a higher exposure to numerous risk factors during this period, including participation in war and the cleaning and decontamination of fields that were contaminated by various chemicals and other pollutants during bombings...".

Nothing there saying "probably." You also purposely ignored the other information I provided, namely that Serbia does not have an exceptionally high rate of cancer mortality relative to other countries in the region, and is even beaten by Mongolia.

Your powers of observation are very poor.
I have commented on the impulsive nature of Trump.
What has that got to do with left or right?
