    I think you are sticking your head somewhere, other than the sand.

    Even Obama didn’t seek UN approval to take out Bin Ladin and it was the right move.

    If Iran strikes anything of ours, watch us take out 1 or 2 of their 3 oil refineries. We will then tell them if they do anything else, we will take out the remainder and watch you starve.

    You can’t play nice with bad people.

    If France or Germany don’t like it, too bad.

    No, sorry to say.

    We have 17 counties and about 70 cities and villages in the USA named for the Marquis de Lafayette.

    When Lafayette died in 1834 Old Glory was flown at half-mast for 35 days and both chambers of congress were decorated in black. The salutes were 24 gun, one for each state at the time.

    Other French names are just about incalculable in number across the land, from Baton Rouge, to Bayou La Batre, to Boise, to Bois Brule, to Champlain, to De Smet, to d'Iberville, to La Salle, to Joliet, to Marquette, to St. Croix, to Terrebonne, to Voltaire, and even Voyageur National Park.

    Even most Indian names came through the French with some of that language injected into the Indian dialects.

    Yeah, you have a very good point. When I read the signs, memorials, and maps I should contemplate those French names and think more deeply upon them.

    Thanks for the reminder. I needed that.

    We can't very well stay out of the area if we are to track down those responsible for an attack on us, can we? That attitude will see us drawn right back into another Middle Eastern mess very easily, and on Iran's terms.

    If we don't want war, we should avoid acts of war. Killing a top official of a foreign government is an act of war.

    Realistically, we're at war and have been at war for a long time, anyway. It has just been waged in a limited fashion. We'll see if the Iranians feel like responding in kind to what Trump did first. He escalated this conflict with this assassination. He fired the first shot.

    We need to defend ourselves. The Iranians have been killing Americans for 40 years and they had plans to increase the number of kills. Trump hasn’t started anything.

    The U.S. will win any “war” with Iran, no matter what form it takes.

    Putin is a terrible person and deserves to die badly. But I would be scared shitless if our POTUS had him assassinated.

    It would be fantastic if Iran nukes California and NATO wouldn't stand by the USA .

    Then the USA could pull out of NATO and we could watch them get run over by Putin and laugh
