It's called commiefornia for a reason!
If forcing votes isn't an act of communism then i don't know what is.

Can you opt out by not registering?

I wonder how many years one gets if they don't vote.

    This is a sign.

The neo-communist already have vote harvesting.

    What more could they need?

Don't they already make sure you voted, regardless of if you voted or not?

What do you mean? Usually you either vote or you don't vote. Maybe I'm just not understanding your comment?

    Pretty much.

    It's about securing power.

Humanity should focus on growing power. More power for all.

No more needless suffering dependent on power.

It takes a village... to produce a guy with ideas that improves everything.

I spent a number of years near Camp Pendleton.

Got the **** out of CA as fast as I could.

The CA DMV is like the 4th Circle of Hell.

    More dead people to vote.

And just think, now they have motor-voter registration. (and of course they give licenses to illegals)

This is the title of the article that you linked to:

Californians who register to vote would be required to cast ballots under new bill

I don't see the word "FORCED" anywhere in the link.

Why are you Editorializing the OP Title?:bored:

    From your link:

The proposal, introduced in the state Assembly on Tuesday, would be unprecedented and probably challenged in court should it ultimately become law.

    1) It hasn't been passed.

    2) Even if passed it will be challenged in Court.

    3) It isn't even a Law, so why are acting so worried?

    Conclusion:

Nobody is FORCING Anyone to do Anything, so why did do you post a Mischaracterized BS Thread Title?:bored:

Anyway, feel free to get back to me when the Law is passed and it clears Court Challenges.

    Until then?:bored:

What does the word "required" mean in leftist speak?

I left my leftist dictionary in the car.

It's fine as long as what they're trying to do hasn't actually happened.

Australia has had this since 1924. Turnout rates jumped from 47-78% turnout to 94-96% turnout. Seems to be working out ok for them.

*shrug* Wasn't intended to sway you one way or the other. Personally I'd be on the fence about it, but externally, there would be no better way to gauge the 'will of the people'. Regardless of anything else.

Well, your the only country on the planet with enough guns to probably point one at every single person. So i'd give you points on the technicality.

    No.

We're the only country where the average citizen has as many guns as the government.

I assure you Trudeau could point as many guns at you as he wanted to.

Difference is, you wouldn't have anything to point back.

Ridiculous. I suppose the punishment will be a fine, maybe $200, they will send a ticket in the mail that says to either pay the fine or show up in court. Honest citizens will pay the $200, the ones that don't will have a warrant on file. Sounds like another scheme to collect money from the middle class.

I wonder if the ACLU will file a law suit if this passes. Wouldn't this be a freedom of speech issue? "I want to voice my disapproval of the political system by not voting"?

Forcing people to vote? Like I said, completely ridiculous, the left coast is going off the deep end.
