yep, they wanted more money to live closer to the school...

don't they have 'green cars' that run dirt cheap, ergo distance don't matter...

Can't even strike without throwing a fit and trying to block others from doing their job, learning and even and violating their own union. Entitled brats.

And Crazy Bernie has to pile and run his gob on "it's union busting" even though they did not have the support of their union in doing this. He is a fool.

These knuckleheads forgot the most important rule about going on strike- it only works if you're not easily replaced, and teaching assistants are about as easily replaced as light bulbs.

If only we taxpayers would pay for their room and board and tuition, these poor oppressed children wouldn't have to work under such intolerable conditions. What a shame that the American taxpayer is so greedy and selfish. What this country needs is Bernie Sanders to set things right.

And by "violence that so many protesters experienced" she means all the screaming and disrespect the protestors directed at the poor cops who had to be there to babysit the brats throwing a temper tantrum.

    Sanders' response was typical bullshit.

What is the point of union bargaining agreements if students can violate them at will with the support of Sanders?

Odd that he'd seek to undercut the union movement.

    From OP article:
What about the housing issue??? There are not enough housing units/apartments in the area to bring down costs. That's a government problem. I guess that's also why there are so many homeless people in California...

indeed... cali government created the situation by importing & harboring illegals, raising taxes on everything to pay for the illegals, regulating everything under the sun (including the sun)...

yep, cali needs to clean it's government & rid itself of all those blue politicians...

People got to figure it out and find their own way in life. The taxpayers don't owe them a damn thing. They should consider transferring to a university in another state, and consider working their way through as an employee of Walmart, as many go-getter students do. College is lot less fun when you work too, but beggars can't be choosers.

yep, and we wonder why unions are needed

the reality is, the reason the min wage is so low is many on the right are anti-employee and do not care about the working class

They are better off. this is a valuable lesson in having a WORK ethic. I work with mostly millennial and they are ALL like this (where I work anyway).

I have found that the majority of all workers, older and younger, have a good ethic.

My observation of areas like that it is the managers are the ones that have a "bad WORK ethic".

Theses student advisors have a Union and a union contract. The union did not support this strike. Do they need a 2nd union to make sure the 1st union does its job?

They will make great CA politicians one day. Demanding that they be rewarded for irresponsibility is almost a CA proverb.

don't know if they were part of a Union or not, they should have let the Union handle it if so, no reason to take them on themselves

It's not going to get any better. The younger politically active hispanics are all dems and Berniephiles.

You have it backwards. If there was any truth to your statement, managers wouldn't be needed!

Says in the linked story they were.

"The strike, which is not authorized by the union that represents the graduate student employees, is in violation of the current bargaining agreement, the university said. "

It's kinda weird that this is happening in the heart of leftist-country California then, huh?
