Why was the response of the Trump Regime to COVID-19 so feeble?

The Trump administration is doing a fine job of responding to coronavirus. 60% of those surveyed recently by Gallup approve.

 

You either don't understand what "universally accepted" means, or you don't understand what the public's opinion on the matter is.

If Trump shut down all travel into the country back in Jan, you and the Left would have called him a dictator. It doesn’t matter what he does because you will HATE that decision no matter what. So who cares.

The stark contrast between the alacrity and competence of South Korean leadership and that of the U.S, and the respective success of the two nations that had their first cases of COVID-19 diagnosed on the same day is quite striking.

Trump's fake claim that it was "under control" on February 22 and again on February 25 epitomized how he would not honestly confront the threat in timely fashion.

And he corrected himself later. Your point? I’ll use YOUR logic with Obama and Hillary. Back in 08 they said, Marriage is only for 1 man and 1 woman. Makes them raving homophobic aholes for all time? Oh yeah. And the MSM at first didn’t see it as such a big deal and they also called it a China or Wuhan virus before they stopped. Your point is what? People say things and correct themselves? The delays caused by Trump's refusal to accept the reality and his repeated attempts to dismiss the threat has contributed significantly to the current plight of the nation. South Korea's prompt response and relative success stands in stark contrast.

I have no need to pretend otherwise.

I have no need to contrive diversions, nor to deny that progress happens.

Some may have once been referring to COVID-19 with a superfluous geographical reference before Trump had deployed his ethnic qualification.

Some have advanced; others have regressed.

The documented record of Trump's statements cannot be denied.

 

There were obviously dedicated public servants who knew what to expect right from the start, and were telling the truth about it, but were not allowed to initiate the proper steps to minimize the spread and duration of the pandemic.

Kudos to those "deep state" experts whose competence conflicted with the politician's self-serving lies about it. Those lies have the consequences we now suffer.

Meanwhile, the Trump bum-kissing propagandists were attacking Dr Messonnier for speaking truth that did not comport with LardAss's lies:

I suppose you imagine that Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and the UK, being free of such a loathsome figure as President Trump, were able to "initiate the proper steps to minimize the spread and duration of the pandemic" from the beginning, right? So WTF went wrong in Europe? Or are they examples of countries that did things the right way?

 

south korea, and japan did it right. SK had its 1st case on same day as US. Also china lock it down very early and use smartphone apps to track all infected + those that had contact with the patient. dont forget they make about 80m mask/day now, while doc/nurse here have to re-use the mask.

As many trump defenders have tried to note the John Hopkins study on US pandemic preparedness, I would note that the US was in the (theoretical) #1 position to handle the epidemic response better than those countries. The fact that our situation is now worse than theirs goes to show the partial impact of the "loathsome" Donald trump on our response.

But make no mistake, this virus was coming no matter what. Or, as Trump said, "I always knew this would be a pandemic." Unfortunately, he made that statement about a month after saying that he "wasnt worried about a pandemic at all." And therein lies the problem. His early **** ups during the initial stages meant that his later steps had less impact.

That's the problem with an exponential curve. Every person you save today is 4 that you saved next week.

 

Trump's opening move was to ban commercial travel from China, a decision which has widely been credited with limiting the spread of the virus, even though it meant he was once again slandered by leftists as being racist.

 

I understand your impotence in confronting the documented reality of Trump having repeatedly dismissed, minimized, and/or grossly distorted the threat from the pandemic.

There is no way you can make all those recorded instances go "Poof!"
