Trump's inability to acknowledge the threat and respond with the urgency, alacrity, and competence of South Korea was based to a large extent on unpreparedness.

The US and South Korea announced their first cases of the coronavirus on the same day: January 20. More than six weeks later, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had tested only around 1,500 people for the virus. South Korea, meanwhile, had tested about 140,000.

    Update:
In stark contrast with South Korea, the World Health Organization has now announced that the U.S. could soon become the "epicenter of the coronavirus."

    A significant contributing factor:

Trump does NOT want to govern. He thinks sTILL, the best gov is the small one you can drown in the bathtub. And he will take us all down believing that.

Dr. Fauci says the administration response is pretty good, and doesn't fault Trump for test shortages, it was the bad system he inherited. Note only two weeks after the WHO was telling us not to worry, the virus isn't contagious (according to their Chinese masters), Trump enacted a China travel restriction over the objections of Biden and other Dems. The WaPo called it an 'overreaction'.

Clearly, it was designed to make Natty's head explode, and "presto magico" it worked....

Of course it doesn't matter that outside organizations have noted that the US response has been world class... NOOOOO..... orange man still bad.

Yup we get it Natty. And thanks for the reminder... :roflol:

I can't tell if you re trying to make Trump look bad or make him the calm voice of reason by default!

Trump becomes hysterical whenever his many documented pronouncements dismissing, minimizing, and misstating the risk from the pandemic are quoted. His praise of China was effusive before he realized that President Xi had done a number on him.

His old buddy and reliable kissass, Howard Stern, has really smacked him silly:

The irony is that he had bloated the already sizable national debt to a height only his Space Force could aspire to even before he mimicked Obama by calling for a much bigger stimulus than his predecessor enacted to overcome the Bush/Cheney Great Recession.

A smaller government that costs much more is uniquely the signature of Trumpery.

Well, there was conflicting information from inside our government (intelligence agencies) and outside.

Inside information is bad to this administration so the President was actually praising China (the authoritarian)in late January.

The travel ban exempted the migration of 300K from China that weren’t isolated/checked as they came into the country. There were a lot of holes.

Please note the whole point of the administration was to destroy what they define as the deep state and unfortunately that meant public service competence.

We’ve got the worst possible administration in place at the worst time.

    This is great! :deadhorse:

I think even the most uninformed voter can see how deranged the media and left are. Once they really shove Biden down their throats they will become even more aware. Please continue on this path! You are paving the way for 2020! Trump bad Trump bad Trump bad Trump bad!!!!

Outside organizations have noted that the US response has been world class? What are you talking about?

The WHO literally just said that the US is becoming the new hotspot of the world.

Perhaps screaming into a pillow will help. Your rant only makes Trump look like the calm voice of reason by comparison.

The NIH has found the reason response of the Trump administration has been so feeble.

Howard Stern's candid evisceration of Fake Don is especially striking because his rude, crude, and lewd shtick is flypaper for the lickspittles of trumpery.

Back in less anxiety-ridden days, Private Bonespurs had told the shlock jock that avoiding sexually transmitted diseases was his "personal Vietnam", and boasted that he should receive a Congressional Medal of Honor for not getting an STD.

Stern excoriating him now is quite the addendum!

Trump desperately needs to bury his extensive, documented record of dismissive, inaccurate pronouncements concerning coronavirus deep under his promised tax returns. No amount of obligatory orchestrated laudations from his minions will alter that record.

You can just look at the data if you don't trust their opinion about the US becoming the new hotspot of the world.

Nonsensical chart. The U.S. does more testing and has more population than the other countries and we have no idea how many cases we have. Nobody knows how many infections there are in any country. Amassing statistics about the unknown is a form of lunacy. People are easily misguided by charts that compare apples and oranges.

the truth is this is an emotional issue, Trump has not empathy, trump did not care until the stock market was effected, as he considers that his scorecard (it effected him personally)

it's driving him crazy all this having to care about the American people... Trump wants us all to praise and worship him, not care about others

Biden is not President, so what type of response were you expecting him to take on this issue - But be nice if anyone other than Trump was President for this crisis, that is for sure

I bet even Trump wishes now the Republicans in the Senate woudl of voted to remove him, then he could have been sitting at home bragging about how much better he would of handled it

India and China both have nearly 1.5 billion people. The US has 329 million. How could you possible think the US has more population than other countries?

You didn't look at the chart. China and India are not included.
