The official name for this virus is COVID-19.

That is what will appear in virology and history textbooks in the coming years.

None of those books will fail to mention that this virus was first observed in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

However, the actual origins of the virus may never be known, just like the "Spanish Flu" of 1918.

You seem like a smart guy, so do you think it's possible that anyone on the planet doesn't know the virus started in China? We could call it the Santa Claus virus but people would still know it started in China.

I don't think fearing Asians in this country (pacific rimmers, not Iranians or Russians) is founded in logic unless they're holding up signs stating they just returned from China, and even then it's not very rational.

It's not very often the media, schools and democrats highlight the discriminatory problems Asians receive at the hands of the media, schools and democrats and I wonder if it will continue after the virus thing blows over.

 

That's kind of my point.There is not a soul on Earth at this point that doesn't know the virus' origin.

But, for almost two months Trump was telling us that he had it under control all the while calling it the "coronavirus".

Only after the SHTF in mid-March did he pivot to calling it "China virus" when it was painfully obvious to everyone that he did not, in fact, have this "under control".

I live in Wyoming and not one Asian family, eatery or home has been threatened by this.. And my cousins are half Korean and my Uncle and Korean wife have not been treated negatively at all..
