I have been checking the website for the Center for Disease Control (CDC). More people are dying every day during this reopening phase. It is reaching 2000 people per day, which will put us right back at the peak for deaths in a few days. Storm's coming.

It doesn't make me happy to say it, but CDC's numbers and predictions have been off so wildly that it is foolish to give them any credibility.

Of course. This is only to be expected. Lockdowns don't actually save lives, they only delay deaths.

Whatever you do, stay inside, masked, and sanitized. This should end in a couple of years, or until two minutes after the 2020 election results are final.

You get one spin on this planet.
How much of your time here do you want to spend "closed"?

    It's a virus, people die.

Yeah. As long as it's not you or your loved ones suffering or dying the world can go to pieces, right?

    FALSE!

Better methods of dealing with critical patients saves lives. For example, by simply turning critical patients over on their stomachs before putting them on a ventilator, they found that they could often avoid the ventilator and save lives.

Delaying as long as possible to allow for a vaccine or treatments saves lives.

Metering the load on the health care system to prevent overwhelming them, most definitely saves lives. And not just corona victims. When the hospitals and responders are overwhelmed, ALL emergency medicine suffers. People die from heart attacks and strokes and auto accidents, to name a few, who would have survived.

As the death toll continues to mount you can kiss Trump's re-election bid goodbye. So maybe there is a silver lining to this pandemic.

You seem to be very confused. This is not a permanent situation. It is like arguing that you won't wear a seat belt while driving because you don't want to wear a seat belt the rest of your life.

Some people concede fate to the whims of the forces around them. And others take control of their lives.

But just giving up is surely an option. To each his own. ;) Personally, I wear a seat belt. And I respond to other challenges in a logical manner as well. I don't believe in just giving up and succumbing to the whims of fate every time there is a challenge.

The question here is how long is "as long as possible."

So you should be rooting for opening up.

But if Biden becomes President, then Republicans can blame him for the rising death toll. That will be fun, watching the Dems turn on a dime saying the President isn't responsible for the pandemic!

    Can I prevent that?

    Proning is an old technique.

Or extending the epidemic, exposing as many people as possible waiting for a hypothetical to emerge.

We didn't come close and you have no evidence to demonstrate that anything we did or didn't do had anything to do with it.

    They weren't even close

Yeah let's just keep the country shut down until we get a vaccine. That makes sense.

If it is ONLY a delay, then why is China down to single digits of infection? JUST social distancing, which is a last ditch effort, after you screw yourselves, is simply a delay. TRUMP ****ed up. SIMPLE as that, he cost us trillions, he cost us 100000 lives, he cost us a depression, well, the GREATEST depression. Trump ****ed up, get used to saying it.

That is REALLY stupid, as the gov spends DOUBLE, if not more than countries that have socialized medicine.

Actually, that's true and has been for some time. It would be a truly great thing if this horrible disease makes us realize this. Maybe then we would understand how much our leaders have been screwing us that it takes this kind of terrible tragedy to make this fact apparent

Not according to Trump, whose tweet I linked to.

Trump owns COVID-19 like white on rice.
