4 Minneapolis cops fired after video shows one kneeling on neck of black man who later died

Four Minneapolis police officers have been fired for their involvement in the death of a black man who was held down with a knee as he protested that he couldn't breathe, officials said Tuesday.

The FBI is investigating the incident, which drew widespread condemnation of the officers after a video showing part of the encounter circulated on social media.
Mayor Jacob Frey said the technique used to pin George Floyd's head to the ground was against department regulations.
After several minutes of pleading with an officer pressing a knee to the back of his neck, the man appeared motionless, his eyes shut, his head against the pavement.

First of all, this is yet another story with race in the headline, why?

Second, last I heard the guy died from a medical incident. Anyone know what the incident was?

Third, fired in less than 24 hours tells me this situation reeks of black privilege and riot prevention. No one wants Sharpton prancing around their city.

Fourth, since you happened to mention dirty cops who can murder with impunity, if the situation was reversed and he happened to kill a cop and escape to Cuba, the left would make a folk hero out of him and teachers would tell their students to send the murderer cards wishing him all the best. Yeah, it's whataboutism, and you've done it, too. But the left seems to think some lives are more important than others, especially if they're criminals.

This cop was a serious dumb ****. I have spent hours upon hours in Jiu Jitsu gyms, but he is supposed to be a professional. You cannot put on a blood and crush choke for that long and not expect dangerous results. The man on the ground even told him. Some people just shouldn't be cops. This ******* is one of them.

Back on topic, before the cops were fired they coroner should have at least identified the cause of death.

Me too bud. In my time as an infantryman we worked on choke holds religiously. This guy knew EXACTLY what he was doing. Murder.

 

Are you familiar with the training regimen of this specific police department? Do you have some insight about this individual's experience which isn't related to his training as an officer? Are you telepathic, you somehow know it was his intent to murder?

When I was in college, I took criminal justice class. That was the class that was required for all future cops to take.
I remember all those students seemed very well intentioned. Blacks, whites, Latinos, Asians and others. They were all sincerely concerned with various injustices and wanted to be a part of the solution.
Saying that all cops are bad is just plain ignorant. Even though bad cops exist, it is my opinion that absolute majority of them are actually well intentioned individuals who really care about their communities.
In this particular case the cop who was killing and the others who saw it should be brought to justice with long prison terms. But it doesn’t mean that these cops were racist, or that all cops are bad.

 

How long do you think you'd last in a world where there were no law enforcement?

Also, how about you repeat your proclamation, but start it with the 'n bomb' rather than pigs... then reflect on the wisdom of what you're espousing.

 

I'd last as long as humans did before there was any police to protect the wealthy and kill citizens. Police are supposed to be community protectors not community looters and murderers...Yet, that is what they are.
