Thanks for the info. I had a friend of mine who was stationed in France with the U.S. Army who had to leave in 1966 or 67. I'm pretty sure if there was trouble brewing, we'd return to Germany if necessary. Reforger is the practice for that or at least was.

Oceans can be crossed easily. 9-11 proved that. Remember that the original plan by the terrorists was to hijack 11 airliners until Bin Laden thinking it was too complicated cut it back to four. Imagine the level of destruction if they had followed thru on their original plan.

Why do you keep calling President Trump "bunker boy"? It shows both ignorance and childishness on your part.

If Russia tries to pull a stupid stunt.
The US cant do it, with its token Army in Europe. It would take weeks to get enough troops across the pond.
The troop deployments to the East European countries are just a show of strength, nothing more, same for Russia, when they move troops around. Its just a game.
Russia can not really afford to attack any of the NATO countries, it does not have the ability to supply a longer war between serious high tech armies.
We have gone through those scenarios during the cold war and than we dealt with the Soviet Empire, which was 3 or 4 times as what is Russia now.
Putin knows that, he is a rather intelligent man

He can bring our troops home as as he promised he is forcing NATO to take a bigger role in their own defense and PAY FOR IT.

Russia's not interested in the Baltics, they have enough land and 1/3 of the world's resources. The only thing they need is people so they can build up their country.

The Baltic countries are paranoid because part of their land belongs to Russia, and the Russians living there do not want to move. The US not wanting to miss out on the opportunity to sell more arms, manipulates and encourages their fears. If worse comes to worse, they're the ones that will be killed not us.

We're doing the same thing in the Far East. The difference is that we are heavily invested there.

I could care less why, I don't particularly care what Germans think of my country politically and socially they don't have much leg to stand on, but they live with the consequences.

Sorry, but that is what he is. If he would have stood up and said the secret service asked me, it would have been ok.
But coming out and saying he was inspecting it, shows he has no stones.
Bunker Boy can not even stand up for that, secret service protocol, because it might make him look bad.

And if you were honest you would know there is no actual evidence to support that.

Never, never underestimate Russia. Lest we forget:

On 10 April 2014, the USS Donald Cook entered the waters of the Black Sea and on 12 April a Russian Su-24 tactical bomber flew over the vessel triggering an incident that, according to several media reports, completely demoralized its crew, so much so that the Pentagon issued a protest

The USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) is a 4th generation guided missile destroyer whose key weapons are Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of up to 2,500 kilometers, and capable of carrying nuclear explosives. This ship carries 56 Tomahawk missiles in standard mode, and 96 missiles in attack mode.

The US destroyer is equipped with the most recent Aegis Combat System. It is an integrated naval weapons systems which can link together the missile defense systems of all vessels embedded within the same network, so as to ensure the detection, tracking and destruction of hundreds of targets at the same time. In addition, the USS Donald Cook is equipped with 4 large radars, whose power is comparable to that of several stations. For protection, it carries more than fifty anti-aircraft missiles of various types.

Meanwhile, the Russian Su-24 that buzzed the USS Donald Cook carried neither bombs nor missiles but only a basket mounted under the fuselage, which, according to the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta, contained a Russian electronic warfare device called Khibiny.

As the Russian jet approached the US vessel, the electronic device disabled all radars, control circuits, systems, information transmission, etc. on board the US destroyer. In other words, the all-powerful Aegis system, now hooked up - or about to be - with the defense systems installed on NATO’s most modern ships was shut down, as turning off the TV set with the remote control.

The Russian Su-24 then simulated a missile attack against the USS Donald Cook, which was left literally deaf and blind. As if carrying out a training exercise, the Russian aircraft - unarmed - repeated the same maneuver 12 times before flying away.

After that, the 4th generation destroyer immediately set sail towards a port in Romania.

Since that incident, which the Atlanticist media have carefully covered up despite the widespread reactions sparked among defense industry experts, no US ship has ever approached Russian territorial waters again.

The article and you ignore the obvious. If a war had been going on the U.S.S. Cook would've simply shot down the SU-24 long before it got close enough to employ the electronic warfare device.

That doesn't mean you can or should give credence to every rumor of every bad thing people claim he has ever done.

The airliners never crossed the ocean. I believe they came from Boston.

Reforger was just a supply exercise. There over 1 million soldiers on both side. The largest Army at that time in Europe was the German Army, Bundeswehr. 400,000 and some. They would have taken the major brunt. I served at that time.
Reforger would have kicked in after 3 weeks, but probably far later, when the ships arrived and than the new troops and supplies made it to the front line
West Germany would have been the most brutal attrition battlefield ever. The Soviets knew they had to do it fast, becuase they could not support a war at that rate for more than 4 weeks and the West knew they had to gain 4 weeks and more to get Reforger supplies.
My unit, 90% loss in the first week, that was the estimate.

I don not give credence to rumors, I am a rather boring pragmatic. I have observed Bunker Boy for a very long time. Remember Larry King, he was on his show so often, that he owned it. That was at times a very interesting show, with super interesting people.
Bunker Boy showed on LK years before he even thought about becoming President who he is.
Just a bombastic chicken with bone spurs, a weak person, no guts, born into money, without any sense of responsibility, trust fund baby.
Bunker Boy is Bunker Boy, can not admit this little fact, Secret Service Protocol.
Oh well, " I inspected the Bunker"

Which is why ideally Reforger would've been activated weeks before the Soviets actually crossed the border.

    Note, I did say "ideally".

And if I recall correctly, most of Reforger was to utilize airlifting U.S. (and Canadian) troops to West Germany (around 150,000 IIRC) and them then using their prepositioned weapons, munitions, and supplies.

The hijackers boarded planes in Boston. Besides, if we weren't in the Middle East, there wouldn't have been any hijackers.

I am in favor of Trump or anyone else dismantling this world police force ASAP. I believe that the DOD should be limited to defending our nation, not policing the world by show of force. We have the capability to go anywhere we need to protect our country if need be. In my opinion our military is being used as a security force for tax dodging international corporations. It’s time that we force them to pay their fair share of taxes if they are permitted to operate here and pay for their own security abroad.

If there was a war, I'm sure the Russians would have taken it into account, and would have responded accordingly. In the meantime the fact remains that they disabled our most advanced destroyer with a small box.

I remember what a Russian military expert said when the medias were crying that Russia had invaded Ukraine. He said that if Russia did, everything in Ukraine would be paralyzed. Nothing would start, not tanks, trucks, cars, etc.

and the U.S. vessel would've also adjusted accordingly.

You act like this example is an indicator of total and eternal Russian military superiority when we don't even know that it was what they claimed it was.
