Exclusive: Trump declines to praise John Lewis, citing inauguration snub

Swan just gave an interview in CNN.

It is unreal that Trump's "handlers" even allowed Trump to sit down with Swan.

Trump got Totally OWNED (and embarrassed).

 

I will admit that interview was not good for Trump. I thought the Wallace interview didn't go well but this one could we worse. Trump does not do well in public situations like this when he is presented with specific information and asked about details. Trump likes to talk in generalities. A perfect example was when he talked about reading the manuals and books about the possibility of too much testing. If you are going to make a statement like that you should know the name of the books or manuals, if not you should at least be able to say which agency or organizations supports the idea. The problem is he does not study information in enough detail to be able to formulate intelligent responses in these type of situations. People keep pointing to the debates as the turning point for the election. I have my doubts. I have always asserted that Trump has never been a strong debater and he often shows his lack of knowledge on important topics or even terms like the nuclear triad. Lucky for him most American voters don't care about details either. The only hope is for Biden makes a bigger blunder than he does but I think it is pretty sad that our election process comes down to the senior citizen that demonstrates the least senility. When people are openly challenging each candidate to pass a simple cognitive test that was designed to detect early signs of Alzheimer's as a main political issue, it is a sad statement about the state of our political system.

 

Trump handled the John Lewis situation like a self serving self loving egomaniacal immature junior high school girl would who was mad because her friend was too sick to attend her birthday party so she got shorted one present.

 

I don't think anyone expected Trump to have anything nice to say about John Lewis.

His response would be startling for a normal person, but this isn't even page 3 news for a man like Trump. He's a self-serving ****** and his response is the epitome of a self-serving ****** response.

 

Who cares? I'm sure John Lewis despised him so the feeling is mutual.

 

I just watched the clip of Trump talking about Lewis. It's a relatively honest answer in that he doesn't know how history will remember John Lewis... Odds are he'll be pretty well remembered, but doubtful in a MLK or Jesse Jackson sort of way, as I gather much of his work was out of the public eye.

I personally find it hard to believe he never met Lewis, but it's not completely out of the realm. Lewis wasn't a committee head or somebody who would be in a position to meet with Trump (probably by design)

Bringing up the inauguration thing TWICE was, of course, ridiculous.

As such, it's a good thing Trump didn't participate in the viewing or the funeral...

Why should he have given Lewis the time of day, Lewis was QUITE clear in his disdain for him personally and his refusals to show him any respect or even the office because Trump occupied. What did Trump owe him?
