I would both LOVE and HATE to be a juror at this trial.

Any thought on Youtube banning the actual police body cam video? Unbelievable. You can't show the actual event, you can only talk about your interpretation of the event. Why does youtube fear the actual facts getting out? How much more authentic can you get than actual police body cam footage? I remember when liberals fought for body cams, now they appear to be against them..... authoritarians ALWAYS do.

Because the video DOES NOT completely support the Saint George Floyd narrative. FOX showed it and it is illuminating for those who are actually seeking answers to what happened..

Last year there were nine unarmed blacks killed by police. So far this year there are six. That is out of literally millions of arrests. It is extremely rare. You must be looking for weekly slayings in some other country.

In most cases it's the numbers the mobs are huge and the police lack the kind of equipment that would give them the edge. I think every police department in every large city should have a fleet of tactical vehicles that bristle with crowd control devices. Canons that deliver various liquids, water, pepper spray, irritants and so on. Devices that emit high frequency, high decibel sounds, blinding lights and signals that jam cell phones and radios. These vehicles could be fitted with electrified skins for herding large crowds and protecting those inside the vehicles. I really think the time has passed for law enforcement to be concerned about hurting anyone. In Portland any federal officer caught out in the open would be murdered. An AP reporter Mike Balsalmo recently spent a night inside The Hatfield Federal Court House in Portland. A large mob of rioters tried to breach the barrier to enter the building. If they succeeded they would have killed everyone inside. Balsalmo reports, "Rioters seem to have dehumanized law enforcement officials and people with opposite values to the point of considering them nothing more than lifeless pawns or “thoughtless political minions." One unnamed deputy U.S. marshal told Balsamo that he is shaken every time he has to leave the building. “You open those doors out, when the crowd is shaking the fence, and … on the other side of that fence are people that want to kill you because of the job we chose to do and what we represent,” he said. “I can’t walk outside without being in fear for my life. I am worried for my life, every time I walk outside of the building.” This is the reality of things now and Jerry Nadler says it's a myth. How effing out of touch do you have to be to believe such a thing? This is beyond protests, beyond riots, this is war and the gloves need to come off.

Back in the old days when a castle was being attacked the defenders would drop hot oil on them.

Last year 9 unarmed blacks and 18 unarmed whites were killed by police in the U.S. There were more than 10 million arrests. Very rare.

Certainly not all. I have no idea how many.

Large city police departments have internal affairs officers. So there is some oversight at least in some departments. If they think they have a vested interest in keeping criminal cops on staff then I would say they are completely mistaken. Bad cops hurt police departments. They don't help them. Protecting them makes no sense to me at all. Perhaps the unions are the problem?

Then you want all police departments to have an internal affairs capability. There is point at which this becomes impractical. The nearest town to me has a two man police department - a chief and an officer. They couldn't afford internal affairs. Nobody calls them anyway since there is a fine sheriff department for the county. 911 calls go there. l support oversight for government in general. Law enforcement is no exception.

I have no fear of the body cam footage - and yes I watched it. It should absolutely be submitted for evidence. But my point was about a knee on the neck. To make other claims not related are valid, but not as a response to mine.

Can you point me to that data? I'm interested in seeing how many officers were charged in those cases.

    Noted.

I know there are MANY good LEOs that respect and uphold their oaths. But, we're talking about the bad apples. I simple don't believe that an officer goes from never harming a suspect during an arrest to killing a suspect. There has to be some kind of build-up to feeling "untouchable" enough to take things that far. It's those type of LEOs that need to be stopped at the pass much, much earlier and it shouldn't take a recording of the incident for that to happen by whatever internal checkpoints exist in their department. This is why I advocate for an independent oversight agency to make sure these problems are addressed sooner rather than later.

There is zero proof of your claim. And if this "straw" is phony then the "protests" are illegitimate.

How do we know how much pressure Chauvin's knee was putting on Floyd's neck? Was it really crushing Floyd's neck or just touching it, or something in between?

Anyway I would think they are going to have a hard time seating a jury in the case. And those who do get seated will fear for their lives if they vote not guilty.

Former NYPD commissioner Bernard Kerik provided these numbers in an interview. Perhaps you can email him.

I agree that the knee on the neck was unjustifiable. The suspect was cuffed and on the ground. The arrest was over. He could have placed knee on Floyd's back if there was a need to restrain him further. Assuming the autopsy reports puts the cause of death on the knee on the neck, then the cop should face homicide charges of some sort. I ask again, could the unions be a problem in getting rid of bad cops?

SO, all you need to do is explain why you have more accurate data than the FBI does.
Chart clip below covers murders, but same FBI- sourced data is online for rape, robbery assault, etc. Google search for "FBI crime reports by race"
will bring up a wide variety of statistical facts.

The department should not have "internal affairs" - there should be an external body - that can show up at any time - like the IRS - until such time as we get these behavior issues in check .. and then it should be disbanded - once folks recognize that perhaps Gov't having the powers that it does - is not such a good idea ... give police a taste of what they enforce - won't taste so good.. this will get police back on the side of people ... in addition Police should be more free to criticize internal policy - start have a say in getting rid of bad law.

Even if Chauvin somehow miraculously escaped the murder charge he also faces a long stretch in prison for tax evasion. I assume the poster and Tucker Carlson will be more than happy to show how they both can withstand someone kneeling with weight directly on their necks for 8 minute and 40 seconds.

Except that doesn't cover what most of the protestors all across America, in big cities and small, were doing. Which was protesting and not rioting or vandalizing.

Now I'm one who thinks anybody that took part in violence, rioting, looting, or vandalism are pure garbage regardless of why they were doing it, and ESPECIALLY if they were also protesting

I also believe the protesters who did not do those things are only being included with the people who are because the people doing the including don't like the protesters or care about the issue being protested. Which is fine. But at that point, just come out and say "I don't like the protesters or the issue they are protesting".

Repeating myself. Most murders are unsolved. If unsolved they can't say who the offender was now can they?
Furthermore, in the cases with arrests, who was more likely to use a public defender and be more likely convicted? Case in point there are 3 times as many blacks incarcerated for possession of pot, do you honestly believe pot smoking is that much more prevalent in black circles? Ever been to a frat or dorm party? When I was in college they could have filled every prison cell in the state with pot smokers with one weekend roundup.
The whole system is screwed up.

Always remember there are stats and there are damned stats, reality is often missed.

What, Fox didn't cover it? I'd be STUNNED if they didn't!

WTF? Why would he have been expecting to die? Just because they were cops?

Correct - he was also clearly NOT cooperating! Seriously, what the hell are you talking about?

Sure, but not because the cops were threatening to kill him.

    So do you support BLM?

Simple. Just move the internal affairs detectives to the DA office.

Yes, but @Pants seemed to think that someone needs to be fired first before going to court.

In the U.S. the judicial system considers people innocent until proven guilty in court. It has been this way since the beginning. It is appropriate that a police department acts with that in mind. Pants is wrong.
