Except that its not. Did you read the bill?

And Dems could very easily pass a clean bill that addresses the situation instead of putting in poison pills.

They're sitting on it because of poison pills. Why can't Dems in the House pass clean bills?

By "defend" what do you mean? Can you give me examples where you say I have done this?

Sorry, I can't take anyone that uses petty names like "Moscow Mitch" seriously. Do you see me go around calling Nancy Pelosi names? Biden? Kamala? ANY politician?

Wrong. The USPS has been run quite well. The problem has been Congress and the President creating laws that force the USPS to operate with a cash reserve unlike any business. Specifically, the requirement to fully fund, far in advance, retirement benefits many years before the payouts would be due. This costs the USPS about $5 Billion a year and devastates its ability to plan and improve services. No other business or government agency is required to pre-fund retirement like this. The normal method is pay-as-you-go. That is, to budget and fund based upon the needs then existing and about to come up, not ten or more years in advance..

Why should anyone be forced to go to a polling place if they do not wish to do so? The USA has had mail-in ballotting since the Civil War. Eight states have had it for years and several only vote by mail. Fraud is non-existent.

My state allows the voter to decide how they want to vote. I'm a conservative, and have voted by mail for years. It is convenient, especially in that it removes a disruption from the work day that in my line of work is always problematical.

For the 3rd time in this thread I have to point out that the USPS is not supported by tax revenue and generates revenue via the sale of stamps, etc. The Postmaster General is appointed by a Board, all members of which were apparently appointed by Trump. The letter carriers and Post Office employees belong to unions that are supporters of the Democrat Party and for that reason I don't want my ballot in their hands and turning up in a dumpster.

A Pa. Federal Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan has ordered the Trump campaign and the RNC to provide proof of widespread voter fraud related to Mail In Ballots in the recently completed Pa. primary as claimed by the GOP. The Democrats and the Sierra Club have both sued and thus far the Gop has supplied ZERO PROOF. The judge has given them until TOMORROW 8-14-2020 to supply the proof!! The judge was appointed by Trump.

If people are willing to accept that their ballot may end up in a dumpster or be delivered too late to be counted they should have the right to accept this risk.

Why would trump sign a bill that is solely about something that he just said opposed?

This is the sort of PF dialog I like. We start with seemingly different initial positions but come to an agreement.

My main criticism in this whole matter is the heavy handed approach of trying to prevent or hinder people from voting by mail. Let the people vote however they want - especially during a pandemic.

Don't get me wrong though because I do want to minimize the risk that their vote would be lost or destroyed without being counted, but let them take that risk.

Donald Trump did not say anything of the sort. And then CNN wonders why they have earned a reputation as a fake news outlet.

Doesn't the Senate have the ability to edit House bills and resubmit them for consideration? Why haven’t they done this? Has the senate passed a clean bill?

The House submitted a bill in May, the Senate has refused to do anything that trump will not sign — this is entirely on the Republicans pandering to trump.

It's called getting a veto proof majority. But that would require Dems to actually commit to a clean bill. I doubt most Republicans would oppose such a bill. Wasn't it you that said that most Republicans support mail in ballots? If the Dems committed to a clean bill that was solely based on funding the post office what do you think would happen? It wouldn't be the first time Republican's worked with Dems to produce a veto proof bill against Trump.

That is what the Dems and Republicans were supposed to be doing. Dems nor Repubs would get rid of their poison pills.

Sure. IF you only look at one side.

You'd have a point if Congress didn't keep stealing from them. They'd be fine if left alone.

Whomever told you that masks keep you from getting it was either lying, or ignorant.

    Maybe listen to the scientists?

Rubbish. But....let's go into detail. So, you fill out your ballot paper, bung it in an envelope addressed correctly. Where do you then put that?

How do they know that it's YOUR vote they are pulling from the mailbox? Drive it to the PO, like we plan to do. Anonymous. Why would someone intentionally throw out a vote that might belong to their "team?"

It's a felony to open mail like that, or destroy it. How many citizens do you believe to be so partisan, that they would risk prison, to get their guy in? Is it truly millions, enough to sway the election?

    Seriously.

Do you really believe all of your neighbors are criminal? You should move, dude, and go live where most of the people aren't suspected felons.

Because we have a population of people that don't go to walmart they have specific protocols to have food stuff delivered and sanitized before they get near it. Why this has to be explained shows the intellect and reasoning you put in your thoughts and statements.

The whole thing went over your head. Pick a narrative, Masks work or they don't. If they do then why can't you go to a polling place?
